“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” – James 1:2-3
The God-glorifying LIFESTYLE of RESILIENCE involves perseverance, faith, and alignment with His Will: “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (Jam.1:2-4). A resilient lifestyle that glorifies God is characterized by persistence and perseverance, faith in God's promises, and a commitment to living according to His will, even amidst challenges. Quite a number of scriptures offer encouragement and guidance for cultivating such a productive life.
Building and developing a God-Glorifying Resilient Lifestyle incorporates the following:
Learning from Setbacks: “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (v.4). Accordingly, recognizing that challenges can be opportunities for growth and learning is a key aspect of a resilient faith.
Faith in God's Promises: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isa.40:31). Trusting in God's Word and promises, even in difficult circumstances, is crucial. Romans 5:3-5 highlights how suffering can produce perseverance, character, and hope.
Seeking God's Strength: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling” (Psa.46:1-3). God is our Source of strength and help in times of trouble.
Perseverance amidst Adversity: “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (Jam.1:12). Enduring test guarantees the crown.
Alignment with God’s Will: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Living a God-Centered Life calls for us as believers to offer our lives as a living sacrifice and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, aligning our lives with God's Will.
Trusting in God's Plan: Acknowledging that God has a purpose for everything and trusting in His plan, even when it's not clear, allows believers to find strength and peace amidst trials. For example, David's journey from shepherd boy to king, marked by both victories and failures, demonstrates the power of resilience and reliance on God's Gace. Paul's unwavering commitment to sharing the gospel despite facing persecution, imprisonment, and hardship, is a notable example of resilience.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
