Bible Meditation:
Numbers 22: 21-34

“Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside...” Numbers 22:23a

Every Believer in Christ has the inherent potential to see the LIGHT of DIVINE SECRETS: “Then God’s anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road” (Num.22: 22-23). The context relates to Balaam, the prophet who King Balak wanted to hire to curse Israel, but God resisted on the way.

The donkey saw the angel. Ironically, the prophet could not – perhaps because he was in rebellion to God’s Will, by agreeing to visit Balak. The donkey saw into the spirit realm what even the prophet missed. It saw and responded with greater faith and corresponding action to the unseen realm than the seen realm: “And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall, so he struck her again” (v.25). Our goal as people who long to Walk in the Spirit should be to respond to what we see with our spiritual eyes with as much or more faith and corresponding action as what we see with our natural eyes.

Subsequent verses reveal what’s even more interesting: “Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”” (v.28). The Lord opened the donkey’s eyes before He opened its mouth. In reality, it’s the same way in the Kingdom. God opens the eyes of our heart by way of conviction, then we open our mouths to confess our salvation (Rom.10:10). We become born-again and manifest the Kingdom according to the light that we have; hence our consistent prayer should be to receive more light and understanding that the entrance of God’s Word brings (Psa. 119:130).

Finally, Balaam’s eyes were opened after the donkey prophesied to the prophet, which got his attention (vv.31-33). The Preincarnate Christ opened his eyes and convicted him of his sin: “And Balaam said to the Angel of the Lord, ‘I have sinned, for I did not know You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases You, I will turn back” (v.34). If God can open a donkey’s eyes to the Light of Divine Secrets, and speak through the donkey, He can open yours and mine! We have the inherent ability as born-again believers to see and hear into the Spirit realm. God wants us fully activated – perceiving, seeing, hearing, and speaking.

Lord, You opened a donkey’s eyes to see and mouth to speak, activate our spiritual senses to the LIGHT of DIVINE SECRETS, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
