LIGHT FOR HEALING AND HEALTH (1)

“Then your LIGHT shall break forth like the morning, YOUR HEALING shall spring forth speedily...” – Isaiah 58:8

Alleluia! This Eleventh Month of our Year of Divine Light and Life is the Month of LIGHT for HEALING and HEALTH: “Then YOUR LIGHT shall break forth like the morning, YOUR HEALING shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the Glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard” (Isa.58:8). The word “then” shows that the promises of a breaking-forth light and a springing-forth healing, are conditional upon obeying God’s Instructions. Verse 8 tops a list of benefits that come from fasting in the proper manner, as God intended.  From here, to the end of the chapter, we learn of the advantages of fasting the way God intended us to. God’s Message:

Here are four Blessings of Obedience, by-products of fasting in the proper way, which could apply to other disciplines of devotion. According to the International Children’s Bible (ICB), “If you do these things...”

“Your light will shine like the dawn” – In His Light, we receive light that dispels darkness, leading in the Ways of Righteousness and Life.

“Your wounds will quickly heal” – By His Light, we’ll receive healing, recover from infirmity and grow unto Divine Health and Divine Life. 

“Your God will walk before you” – As we follow Jesus, the Light of the World, we have the Light of Life and shall never stumble (Jh.8:12).

“The glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.” God’s Glory – His Light, Life, and Love – will surround us from behind and on all sides.

The Promises of Obedience to God’s Wil and Ways, continue in overflowing measures:

Answered Prayers by His Very Presence: “Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ (v.9a).

Manifestation with Irresistible Intensity: “Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday” (v.10b).

Unceasing Divine Guidance: “The Lord will guide you continually...” (v.11a).

Divine Satisfaction and Strengthening: “And satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones...” (v.11b).

Divine Watering and Refreshing: “You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” (v.11c).

Generational Restorations: “Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In” (v.12).

Divine Exaltation: “Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; and I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father” (v.14a).

It makes a world of difference to repent and walk in obedience. We have light instead of darkness, healing instead of disease, righteousness instead of defilement, glory instead of disgrace: and life becomes a watered garden, not a miserable mire! Let’s do things God’s Way if we desire to experience His benefits and blessings.
