LIGHT LIGHTENS

ARISE, SHINE; for your LIGHT IS COME, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you – Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

LIGHT LIGHTENS the burdens of life. Some say that “Life is not fair” and that “times are tough,” but those who walk in the light are more likely to survive and thrive, even in tough times! Those who are weighed down with the devil’s heavy loads of Sin and sin’s consequences find it hard to awake, arise or shine. While the world wallows in the darkness of abounding iniquity; and the nations groan under the weights of woes and grope amidst gross spiritual darkness, God is proclaiming the dawning of the Light of His Glory upon His covenant people. We are in the Day of His Shining Splendour! As deep darkness covers the earth, God’s Glory is covering His people! The day of darkness for Egypt is the Day of Distinction for Zion!

The prophet declared: “ARISE, SHINE; for your LIGHT is come…”! You cannot arise until you awake. You cannot shine until you arise. It takes the arrival of light to rise and shine. Until your light comes, the glory cannot manifest! The Word says, your light ‘IS’ come – it has come to stay! You are empowered to rise and shine, knowing that darkness will never hold you down! There is a prophetically pre-determined darkness that is covering the earth, but children of Light operate above it: For, behold, THE DARKNESS shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people: but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising (Isaiah 60:2-3).

The Light of God’s Word eases the hardship and heavy loads of life. The Light of His Spirit lifts burdens and destroys yokes (Isa.10:27). It is the Will of the LORD to lighten our lives by His Light. This is the Father’s eternal Plan: “The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down; nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended” (Isa.60:19-20).

Above all, this is the Son’s admonition and assurance: “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light” (Mt.11:28-29). God’s Light – His Word – makes life’s loads light!
