LIGHT OF REVELATION

“A LIGHT to bring REVELATION to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel”– Luke 2:32

God, the Ultimate Revealer sent His Son Jesus as: “a LIGHT to bring REVELATION to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel” (Lk.2:32). Revelation is enlightenment; the impartation of illumination that exposes hidden things. We read in few powerful verses the prophetic adventure of Simeon, a watching and waiting saint whose entire life was sustained by revelation. He was “just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel,” because the Holy Spirit upheld him with the light of revelation: “And it had been REVEALED to him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ” (vv.25-26). The Light of Revelation can sustain and uphold the Believer to incredible extents!

Like Simeon, amidst pervading spiritual darkness and moral decay, there are diligent and patient Believers today who are standing by the Light of Revelation, unwavering in faith, waiting and watching for the Promised Return of our Messiah, Jesus Christ. Simeon had personal revelation by the Holy Spirit in an era when God’s Spirit rested on the saints. Now, we are privileged to live in the Day of God’s Power when His Spirit dwells in us: “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells WITH YOU, and WILL BE IN YOU” (Jh.14:16-17).

The Lord Jesus further assures: “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into ALL TRUTH… and He will tell you things to come” (Jh.16:13). Praise God, the Holy Spirit is here! We’re in the Season of Revelation: “But God has REVEALED them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches ALL THINGS, yes, the DEEP THINGS of GOD” (1Cor. 2:10). God’s deep things do not come through mental rigor, but by Revelation. The Light of Revelation can be likened to a spiritual ‘laser’ beam that gives precise, correct knowledge, like physical laser beams give accurate measurements. The Greek word for ‘revelation’ – epignosis – actually means “precise and correct knowledge.”

To whom much is given, much is expected. In the New Covenant, revelation now comes both by our Intimacy with the Holy Spirit, and our stand in God’s Word. The deeper your intimacy with the Holy Spirit and grounding in the Word, the brighter will be the Light of Revelation. Revelation Knowledge is that which is “revealed” by God, in contrast to ‘Sense Knowledge’ which comes by carnal reasoning or mental exertion. God wants us to know Him intimately and understand all things from His perspective, for victorious living. We cannot truly know Him through sense knowledge, because God is a Spirit and spiritual realities are imperceptible to the myopic physical senses.  When Peter deciphered Christ’s divine Identity, the Lord told him: “flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven” (Mt.16:17b).

As we shall confirm in the coming days, the most profound encounters with Knowledge, Wisdom, and Understanding will come through revelation. ‘Paul prayed “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION in the full KNOWLEDGE of Him…” (Eph.1:17). This apostolic author of much of the New Testament testified: “how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery” (Eph.3:3). Revelation opens gates into Divine Mysteries: “the deep things of God”! (1Cor.2:10). Revelation comes more by communion than mere communication: “deep calls unto deep…” (Psa.42:7). Welcome to the realm of Divine Mysteries!

God wants us to revel in the LIGHT of REVELATION. In all matters of destiny, His revealed answers are superior. Revelation prevents stagnation and destruction. It is God’s Instrument of renewal, rejuvenation, revival, and restoration. What is not revealed cannot be released or received. Revelation has not ceased. Heaven is not shut. God still reveals His Heart to His sons. He wants to reveal to us the unfathomable “mysteries” of His Kingdom for lives of Dominion (Mt.13:11).
