LIGHT OF VISION FOR VICTORY (1)

“And the Lord said to Joshua: “SEE! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor” – Joshua 6:2

God has a Battle Strategy of releasing to His people the LIGHT of VISION for VICTORY: “Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua: “SEE! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor” (Jos.6: 1-2). Whenever the Lord says, “SEE” He is saying “Catch a Vision”! Even though the enemy’s territory looked fortified and impregnable, God commanded Joshua to “SEE” – catch a Vision – and celebrate Victory even before the walls fell! God sees the end from the beginning. Faith does too. We conquer by Light in the Battles of Life – The Light of Vision for Victory!

God has detailed plans for all aspects of our lives; plans for our Victory. But He releases His Light for us to catch the Vision of Victory ahead of tasting the Victory! We must SEE with the eyes of faith – of the spirit – expecting God’s best in every situation. The challenge of this “securely shut up” Jericho illustrates the power of expectation! Jehovah revealed to Joshua His Victory Plan for Jericho’s conquest, giving him instructions and definite expectations. Similarly, God has a purpose for every detail in His plan for our lives and demands our expectation and obedience of faith. Joshua rehearsed God’s plan and promise to all of Israel so that they would know what the Lord required of them, for “faith comes by hearing” (Rom.10:17). God’s Victory Strategy revolved around Vision, Faith, and Action!

Beginning with the Vision, every part of God’s Victory Plan was targeted at the people’s Faith. For example, the instruction to maintain a SEASON of SILENCE was to ensure that they would not talk themselves right out of faith into doubt, fear and unbelief (v.10). While observing the magnitude of Jericho’s walls, it was the easiest thing for them to spew out complaints, murmuring and negativity all the way. If God had permitted them to talk, their tongues could ensnare and get them into defeat. God ensured that nothing tampered with the focus of their faith!

The people were to Shout in Faith and Victory as matching ACTION to their Expectation (vs.14-16). Having promised to give them the city, with the release of the Light of Vision, they were to ACT IN FAITH by shouting the Victory BEFORE the walls came down! When the priests blew and Joshua told the people to shout, the walls were still standing solid. God desires that we not only SEE the Victory, but go ahead to SHOUT the Victory in Faith, regardless of what our senses or the situation may be saying. Then, all walls of difficulties, hindrances and oppositions standing against our destinies will fall down flat: “and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat” (v.20).
