LIGHT OF WISDOM

“So shall the Knowledge of WISDOM be to your soul; if you have found it, there is a prospect, and your hope will not be cut off” – Proverbs 24:14

The LIGHT of WISDOM is the platform for winning, enthronement and reigning in life: “So shall the Knowledge of WISDOM be to your soul; if you have found it, there is a prospect, and your hope will not be cut off”” (Pro.24:14). Wisdom is a principal dimension of Divine Light (Pro.4:7). The Light is sweet (Eccl.11:7a). Wisdom also is Sweet: “Know also that WISDOM is SWEET to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off” (Pro.24:14, NIV). The Light of Wisdom is sweet to the soul; its discovery is extremely profitable, and enhances the manifestation of expectations.

Proverbs 24 relates the ‘triplets’ of Divine Light: “Through WISDOM a house is built, and by UNDERSTANDING it is established; by KNOWLEDGE the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (vv.3-4). Precious means ‘valuable’ and ‘rare’ – a treasure. Pleasant means that which is sweet, comfortable, delightful, and beautiful. The house of our lives is best built with God’s wisdom. “By understanding it is established,” and “by knowledge” our destinies are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Wisdom in building refers to having a proper view of the plans and materials. Wisdom is seeing things as God sees them; viewing life and its decisions in alignment with His Will and His Word.

Wisdom is God’s own Creative agent: “The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens” (Pro.3:19). He designed that our destinies be built, established, and decorated by Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge. The wise builder puts the perfect touch on every opportunity using these divine gems and jewels. Wisdom: “is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, In her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who retain her” (Pro.3:15-18). The Gates of Wisdom open into: longevity, riches, dignity, pleasantness, peace, fruitfulness, and fulfilment (happiness). 

The Lord Jesus confirms Wisdom as the Secret for Building and Winning in life. He spoke about a house in a parable about wise and foolish builders: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Mt.7:24-27). With wisdom we build on the solid rock of obedience to God’s Word and Will. His precepts are solid foundations, His commands firm flooring, His statutes are like walls keeping out the elements, and His instructions like windows letting in light. We can receive heavenly wisdom each day to build our lives and share God’s love with others. The wise person decorates and accessorises all of life with the perfect word spoken to every aspect of living. 

Wisdom is God’s Dominion instrument: “By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, all the judges of the earth” (Pro.8:15-16). King Solomon epitomised the Wisdom of God for enthronement. God granted his request for Wisdom and Knowledge to administer His people, and in addition, poured upon him “riches, wealth and honor” that surpassed those of any king that ever reigned in Israel (2Chr.1:10-12). Wisdom is the avenue to prudence, “witty inventions,” durable riches, honour, and righteousness (Pro. 8:11-12, 18-21).

Wisdom is divine Know-how; the ‘How’ and accurate application of Knowledge. Wisdom lays hold on God’s higher ways via His higher thoughts (Isa. 55:8-9). Wisdom is the exploration of God’s ways, approaches or strategies to living. It is the faculty by which God answers questions, dissolves problems, and resolves issues. His Word is His Wisdom: knowing from the Word the right steps to take, ways to go, and how to handle life profitably: “wisdom is profitable to direct” (Eccl.10:10b). As you listen to Wisdom, “watching daily” at her gates; you will be built, decorated, promoted to distinction, and enthroned in dominion!
