THE MEASURE OF FAITH

Bible Meditation:
Luke 17: 1-10

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the MEASURE OF FAITH – Romans 12:3

The principle can never be over-stated that: “God has dealt to every man the measure of faith”! The article “the” rather than “a” implies a particular measure of faith. Every child of God received from the Father the measure of faith at the new birth. Through the hearing of the Gospel of Salvation – the Word of God – He imparts the measure of faith for salvation.

The Word of God is the “raw material” or the substance of faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word (Rom.10: 17). The measure of faith is simply the ‘beginning-faith’ that comes to every believer at and for salvation. It is the faith that comes through the hearing of the Word. It is also referred to as SAVING FAITH, that is, the faith that brought salvation: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephe.2:8). This is not a common faith that belongs to all men. 2 Thessalonians 3:2 says: “…for all men have not faith.” Not all human beings have received the Word of God which imparts this measure of faith. You must be born-again to receive this gift – the supernatural, God-kind of faith! It takes beginning with the measure of faith for you to ultimately mature “unto to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephe.4:13).

The Measure of Faith is a GIFT from God: “a man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven” (Jh.3:27). “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…” (Jam.1:17). Salvation does not come from human effort or self-determination. God will not allow human effort to perform divine results. He will not share His glory: it is ALL GOD, Zero Man! Whether as the measure of Faith, a GIFT of the Spirit (1Cor.12) or as part of the FRUIT of the spirit, faith is spiritual in nature and it is an imparted reality, not “in-born” (1Cor.12; Gal.5:22-23).

The eventual development of faith is a personal responsibility of every believer. This predicates on your commitment to hearing, meditating on and doing God’s Word. Beloved, you are responsible for whatever the measure of faith grows to become in you. You can choose to either grow your faith on God’s Word or remain stunted in faith. What have you been doing with your God-given Measure of Faith? It is high time to build-up, utilize and maximize the Measure of Faith!

Prayer:
Lord, help me to build-up, effectively utilize and maximize the gift of the measure of faith you graciously released unto me at salvation in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
