Bible Meditation:
Psalm 136: 1-26

“To Him who alone does GREAT WONDERS, for HIS MERCY endure forever” Psalm 136:4

Mercy and Miracles are intimately connected in two ways. First, there is the MIRACLE of MERCY – Mercy in itself being a miracle! Then, there are “Miracles of Mercy” – diverse, immeasurable miracles that are channelled into our lives via the route of Mercy. Miracles are real! They happened in the past; they still happen today; and shall continue as long as life exists. God often meets our diverse human needs through the route of miracles! Miracles are supernatural manifestations that are over and above, beyond, higher than, surpassing and outside the natural realm. Miracles are supernatural blessings beyond human comprehension and fabrication. Believers are not meant to conform to the ordinary course of nature or reside in the natural realm of the senses and human reasoning. Rather, we are created to walk and live in the supernatural, and to experience miracles of salvation, deliverance, healing, provision, promotion, and protection. We were ordained to operate in the realms of signs, wonders, and miracles.

Mercy is the bridge between Needs and Miracles. Mercy connects Needs to Miracles. We have a powerful and merciful God, whose Mercy is incredible. By His Miracle of Mercy, God can make you a Wonder to your world and a ‘Miracle’ to your generation! When God makes you by His Mercy, no one can “unmake” you! God works wonders by Mercy: “To Him who alone does GREAT WONDERS, for His Mercy endure forever” (Ps.136:4). Mercy drives His dynamic power for wonders. Virtually every miracle performed by the Lord Jesus was a Miracle of Mercy, but the recipients came with definite desires: Mk.9:17-27).

The man whose son was vexed with the spirit of lunacy encountered the miracle of mercy (Mt.17:15-18)

The two blind men who sat by the way side on the Jericho road damned the multitudes rebuke, but cried out for mercy, and named their desired miracle: “They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened”” (Mt.20:29-34). Mercy attended to their need and ushered them into miracles!

The man who brought his son, possessed by a dumb spirit to the Lord, met with the Mercy of God that does miracles (Mk.9:17-27).

The pool of Bethesda was a place of Mercy (Jh.5: 1-8). There the weak, feeble, and impotent man encountered the Lord of Mercy and was lifted from 38 years of infirmity, wasting disease and stagnancy. Out of a crowd of the paralyzed, blind, lame, and sick, Mercy separated this man for a life-transforming miracle (Jh.5:1-8). The story suggests that it was the helplessness of this man that drew Jesus to him. The Miracle of Mercy is available for every situation of human weakness, hopelessness, and helplessness!

At one time or the other in life, we might see ourselves as, in a sense, helpless, weak, crippled, and lying at the pool of Bethesda! We all need help. We all find ourselves paralyzed at times, unable to do the things we want or ought to do. We find that we do not walk very well spiritually or emotionally. God’s Miracles of Mercy can answer to our greatest needs an deepest desires.

Mercy connects Needs to Miracles. Need is the incubator of the miracles of mercy as we’ve seen in the biblical accounts. A need should not be seen simply as a lack, void or such negative connotation; but as a motivator and incubator of Mercy and miracles. The need in your life is the birthplace and incubator of the miracle of mercy! Yesterday, we meditated on the case of Bartimeous and his Cry for Mercy (Mk.10). Today, we’ve seen other biblical models of how Mercy connects needs to miracles. A sense of need drove these Faith exemplars to their miracles. God’s mercy outworks miracles of healing: “Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all you diseases…The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in Mercy” (Ps.103:3,8).

In Jesus name, the Lord shall enrich your life with Miracles of Mercy. He’ll make you a positive wonder to your world and a Miracle to your generation. He’ll decorate your weeks with wonders, your months with miracles, and your years with His Goodness!

Lord, connect my needs to Your MIRACLES of MERCY, and make me a Living Miracle and Wonder to my world, in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
