MOMENTS

I MUST WORK the works of Him who sent Me while it is DAY; the night is coming when no one can work – John 9:4

Jesus inferred thus: “I know the value of One Day, and the worth of my Work. I will not waste the day. I will not leave till night what I must do during the day. I will not postpone till tomorrow what I must do today”! Every new beginning is an opportunity for new exploits. Every minute, hour, day, week, and month of the New Year is an Opportunity waiting to be harnessed. Jesus is our Model in making the most of moments. He seized the moments to fulfil His ministry and accomplish the Father’s Will. He had a compelling MUST to “work the works of Him that sent”! The Holy Spirit’s anointing and power on Him was not in vain, for He “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

A secret of success in life is to be ‘Ready for Opportunity’ when it comes. Paul P. Parker said, “Opportunity comes to those who have devoted time to improve themselves. So when added responsibility, a new position or opportunity knocks at their door, they are prepared to take advantage of it.” How prepared are you for opportunities that lie ahead on destiny’s path? Will you allow them to fizzle away or seize them with focus and passion? Opportunity is all around you. What matters is where you put your focus. When you are rightly positioned, opportunity presents itself. How ready are you for unannounced doors into greatness? God is sending His Word to prepare you ahead to meet, embrace, and maximize life’s opportunities. Your big and best opportunity in life so far may be where you are right now! May the Lord open your eyes to see!

More often than not, we are faced with magnificent opportunities, brilliantly disguised as adversities or impossible situations. Opportunities seem to have a sly habit of slipping in by the back door, and often come disguised in the form of adversity or temporary defeat. This is why so many fail to recognize opportunities when they call. Ironically, when opportunity knocks, some people object to the interruption! Every moment ahead is an opportunity from God the Unchanging Changer for you: to receive new mercy, change, repent, make amends, re-strategize, re-prioritize, re-energize your dreams, or make things right! Seize the moments: learn new lessons; visit new places; garner new experiences; acquire new knowledge; read or write new books; exercise new gifts; compose new songs; get new wisdom; make new acquaintances; break new records.

Another secret of success is to do something else in the meantime. Never while away time. Time flies; but it’s up to you to be the Pilot. Before you know it, the New Year would have become old and gone. These twelve months contain 52 weeks, 365 days, 8760 hours or 525600 minutes. How brief! How short! How transient! At the end, what would your life have counted for? Will you get ahead during the times others waste? Will you find yourself striking when the iron is cold? Will you make hay while the sun shines? As fast as the moment presents itself, USE IT! No matter how small it may be, USE IT! Do what you need to do when it ought to be done whether you like it or not. Memorize this: There is no time like the Present and no present like Time!
