Bible Meditation:
Genesis 12: 1-9

Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your kindred and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you Genesis 12: 1

There would come moments in your life as a child of God when the Father will motivate you to ‘Leave a Setting’, ‘Make a Move’, ‘Change your Course’, or ‘Get out of a Rut’! Such was God’s communication with Abram. God made a choice of Abram, and singled him out from among his fellow-idolaters in Ur of the Chaldeans. His primary purpose was to reserve a people for Himself, among whom His true worship might be sustained till the coming of the Messiah. Abram proved that he could willingly leave all to go with God. His kindred and his father’s house were beckoning to him, yet he could not continue among them without danger of being contaminated by them. For Abram, as the pattern is for everyone who comes to God, natural affection must give way to Divine Grace. Sin in all its ramification and ungodly associations must be forsaken, in order for God’s great and precious promises.

Jehovah motivated his future Covenant-friend to make a Milestone Move that would usher him into his divinely-designed Place in destiny – a destiny that would impact unlimited generations of humanity. The fulfilment of God’s promises was hinged on Abram’s positive response to this Call to Leave, to ‘Get Out’, to Move! This call included two promises: the first, revealing the land of his future posterity; and the second, that in his posterity all the earth was to be blessed (Gen.12:2). Abraham obeyed, and this is consistently mentioned in the New Testament as an outstanding manifestation of faith: “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to GO OUT to the place which he would afterward receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going” (Heb.11:8). Abram believed that the blessing of the Almighty would make up for all he could lose or leave behind, supply all his wants, and answer and exceed all his desires and expectations.

In what aspect of life has God been trying to motivate you to make a move, to leave the status-quo, to exit your comfort zone, or to get out from familiar grounds and blaze a fresh trail? Until you respond in simple obedience, you may never fathom the extent and dimensions of blessings that would accrue to you and even to generations unborn. God told Abram: “I will MAKE you a great nation” (v.2). The Lord was more or less telling Abram: “Your MAKING is in your MOVING…Your Greatness is in your Getting out”! Beloved, it’s time to feed your faith, starve your doubts, and make the moves you need to make.

Are you on course in living out your divine dream and fulfilling your life’s Vision or are you just watching time go by? Have you started on your quest in the pathway of destiny? Keep this in mind: Any new endeavour can be both petrifying and problematic, but a lot of the time, the hardest part is making that first move. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Define your direction – where you are going – and take that first or next step now. Do not be intimidated by the grandeur of the vision. Great things manifest through a series of small things brought together. You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind. If there’s a hill to climb, don’t think that waiting will make it any smaller. It takes many intentional steps to attain to greatness; but you must make the move. Only people who make moves win games. A man who is afraid to throw the dice will never throw a six. It’s time to throw the dice and hope for God's best!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
