Mark 4: 35-41

And a man shall be as an hiding-place from the wind and a covert from the tempest… – Isaiah 32:2a

There is no doubt WHO this MAN is that is described as “an hiding-place from the wind” and “a covert from the tempest.” Who else could He be but the Last Adam (1Corinthians 15:45), the Second Man, the Lord from Heaven (1 Corinthians 15:47), the Man of sorrows (Isaiah 53:3), the Fourth Man in Nebuchadnezzar’s fire (Daniel 3:25), the Son of Man, Jesus the Christ?

What a hiding-place He has been for His people! What a Covert from the tempests of life He has promised to remain! He bears the full force of the wind Himself, contains the onslaught of the storms, and so He shelters those who hide themselves in Him. By the eternal sacrifice of this Man, we who believe have escaped the wrath of God, we have been delivered from the rage of Satan, and we shall perpetually escape the cares of this life, the anger of men, and the dread of death. Why must we continue to bear the brunt of the boisterous wind when we may so readily and so surely hide behind our Lord?

These are our assurances:
 “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5).
 “Thou shalt hide them in the secret of Thy presence from the pride of man: Thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31:20).
 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1).

Common winds of trials and troubles often rise in force and intensity and gain momentum to become terrific tempests, sweeping everything in their ways. Outside of the shadow of the Almighty Covert, many and great are the falls of those with carnal confidences. Men and institutions which seemed established, firm and stable are soon eroded from their roots until their place is found no more.

Our Lord Jesus, the glorious Man, is a Covert that can never be blown down. In Him we watch the tempest sweeping by, but we ourselves rest in delightful serenity, as the Master commands the winds, calms the storms, and tempers the tempests: “Peace be still” (Mark 4:39).

It is time to run to Him Who is our hiding-place and our covert. This day let us stow away in our Hiding-place, and abide with joy and peace under the protection of our Covert, our Shelter in the time of storm. This is the Psalmist’s testimony: “You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them” (Psalm 89:9, NIV).

Lord, my hiding-place from the wind, my covert from the tempest; I take refuge in You on this Journey of Destiny and will never be put to shame.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
