NEW BIRTH – NEW IDENTITY

Through the reality of the New Birth, the ‘new man’ in Christ has a new identity: an identity that is completely different from that of the person that existed before. Jesus identified with humanity through His crucifixion, death, burial, justification, resurrection and ascension. He became one with man in death so that man can be one with Him in glory and newness of life.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin (Romans 6:4-6).

Anyone who identifies with Christ’s work of redemption is set to enjoy the benefits of what He accomplished. Whereas an un-recreated human spirit is bonded with the devil; the new man is one with Christ. Even as the Lord Jesus is now seated in the heavenlies, far above principalities and powers and every name that is named not just in this world but also in the world to come, so is the New Creation seated right there with Him: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6).

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is important that our minds be renewed to our true and new identity as New Creations. It is vital that we see ourselves in a new light. God sees every of His children – who are born-again by the Word and the Spirit – as New Creations. For you to become all you were created to be, you need to see yourself as the Father sees you – a New Creation in Christ, His Agent of Dominion, Grace, and Glory! The New Creation is positioned in dominion, possesses dominion and practises dominion. The New Creation rules, reigns and exercises dominion in the earth realm, in the heavenly realms, and over realms underneath the earth! The New Creation has been given power and authority over every power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The New Creation flows in grace and manifests glory! That’s the stuff you are made of…that’s the manifestation of the sons of God the world is awaiting!
