OPEN DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY

Bible Meditation:
Genesis 39:1-23

I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an OPEN DOOR, which no one is able to shut – Revelation 3:8

“God is the Specialist at “setting” open doors, creating opportunities where there were none. Opportunities are unexpected doors which God opens for people. Joseph’s story provides a classical example of how God sets open doors where they are least likely.

When Joseph was sold to slavery, opportunities came by way of being engaged in the house of Potiphar. Joseph maximized the opportunities by excelling at his tasks, to such extent that the Bible described him as a “prosperous man” not a “slave” in the house of his Master, the Egyptian (Genesis 39:2). When he was falsely accused, thrown into and forgotten in prison, opportunities came by the way God touched the prison keeper, who made Joseph the head of all the prisoners. The Bible says, ‘the Lord showed him mercy and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison’ (Genesis 39:21). When Joseph was forgotten in prison by the King’s butler, God put a dream in Pharaoh’s heart which was to be interpreted by Joseph.

Be on the alert for opportunities and open doors. The expectation of opportunities is expressed in the words of Solomon,

“So shall you find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man” (Proverbs 3:4).

Solomon suggested by this verse that opportunities are awaiting us and therefore our expectation must always be there. Opportunities often appear without advance alert. They may even come disguised as a problem. Keep the opportunities antennae above, as you express diligence in the work you do…

As you expect opportunities, and the abilities of God abide in you, somebody will see you, believe in you and invest in you.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for doors of opportunity set before me in life and ministry. Destroy all adversaries against my doors of destiny in Jesus name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
