Bible Meditation:
Colossians 3: 12-17

“And let the PEACE of GOD RULE in your HEARTS, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful” – Colossians 3:15

PEACE – the DIVINE UMPIRE is not a passive emotion, but an active, reigning authority: “And let the PEACE of GOD RULE in your HEARTS, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Col.3:15). In today’s meditation passage, the Apostle Paul instructed the church on how to live out their new identity in Christ. He used the imagery of changing clothes, commanding believers to strip off worldly behaviours and "put on" holy virtues. At the centre of this spiritual wardrobe is a governing force: Peace – The Divine Umpire!

The Peace of God is actively established through the finished work of Christ, harmonizing our vertical relationship with God and our horizontal relationships with others. The Greek word for “rule” literally means to act as an umpire, referee, or arbitrator. Paul is commanding us Believers to let God’s Peace be the ultimate judge and umpire in our hearts. When conflicting emotions, desires, anxieties, or offenses clash within us, the Peace of God blows the whistle and makes the final call. However, supernatural peace does not operate in a vacuum; it partners with the Garment of Grace (vv.12-14). Divine Peace reigns within a specific ecosystem of compassion, kindness, humility, and forgiveness.

Love is the “bond of perfection” that knits these virtues together, creating the ideal environment for peace to exercise its dominion. Before making key decisions or reacting in anger, it pays to check our internal climate and appoint Peace as our Referee. If an option strips away our deep-seated spiritual peace, that is the umpire signalling us to stop. When Christ's peace rules, anxiety is disqualified from the game. Paul also appended a vital command: "and be thankful” (v.15b). The fuel of Gratitude is non-negotiable. A thankful heart is the operational foundation of peace. Gratitude enforces the dominion of peace by focusing on God's past performance rather than current pressures.

Beloved, we must dress for the Kingdom daily, and actively choose to put on patience. We cannot experience the dominion of peace while wearing the garments of bitterness. Peace is not a treaty signed in the absence of war; it is the sovereign reign of God over internal chaos.

In Jesus’ Name, I decree that:

The Peace of God has the final authority over my mind, emotions, and will. My mind is a sovereign sanctuary where Christ’s Peace rules.

Every voice of anxiety and panic is disqualified from my heart. I strip off all bitterness and put on garments of humility, kindness, and love.

Peace – the Divine Umpire – settles every relational conflict and confusion in my life, as the Word of Christ dwells in me richly, in all wisdom.

No chaotic storm in my situation can overthrow the internal dominion of God's Rest. In Christ, I walk in total victory that’s already established.

I break the power of generational anxiety; my lineage belongs to the Prince of Peace. His Peace settles doubts and guides my ways aright.

I am secure and divinely defended in the midst of battles. My heart is anchored in radical thanksgiving, unlocking continuous streams of joy.

Political, economic, or environmental systems may collapse, but God’s covenant vow to keep me in peace, is legally absolute (Isa.54:10).

Prayer:
Lord, dethrone every anxiety and appoint Peace – the Divine Umpire, to referee our emotions, settle our doubts, and guide our steps, in Jesus' name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
