“And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more” – Genesis 37:5
The terms Vision and Dream are often used interchangeably. The Power of Vision is also the POWER of DIVINE DREAM: “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more” (Gen.37:5). God gave Joseph dreams about his destiny which clearly signified future leadership in the sense that the “sun, moon and stars” – his parents and brothers – would bow to him (v.9). His story illustrates to us what to expect along the pathway of destiny fulfilment.
Divine Dreams are precious: we should be cautious when sharing our dreams – the drivers of our destinies! It is exciting to receive a divine dream and the tendency is to want to share it with someone but we need to be careful about whom we tell. Most people you share your dream with will offer indifferent or discouraging responses. Joseph’s brothers hated and envied him for his dreams (v.5,11). Your dreams are meant for those you truly trust – those who have proved to be destiny helpers!
We each have a Dream planted in our hearts: a Vision deep inside that speaks to our very soul. This is not just a carnal desire to escape our present circumstances, rather it is a deep consciousness within that captures the essence of our existence: the very thing we are born to do and to be. The dream pulls on our Potential – out gifts and talents; and appeals to our highest ideals – our values. It ignites our deepest feelings of destiny. Here are five things that the Divine Dream does:
The dream gives you Direction. It provides you with something worthwhile to aim for! It acts as a compass, showing the direction to travel. Oliver W. Holmes said: “The great thing in the world is not so much where we are but in what direction we are moving”! You cannot fulfil purpose and grow toward your potential when you don’t know in what direction you should be going. If you move in any direction other than toward your dream, you may miss out on life-enriching opportunities.
The dream enhances your Potential. Without a divine dream, you’re unlikely to look beyond your current circumstances; and there’ll be neither discovery nor manifestation of potential. With a dream, you’ll begin to see a new light, stretch and grow to reach it. Every opportunity that comes along, every resource discovered, and every talent developed, becomes a part of your potential to grow toward the dream. E. P. Hovey said: “A blind man’s world is bounded by the limits of his touch; an ignorant man’s world by the limits of his knowledge; a great man’s world by the limits of his Vision.”
The dream helps you to prioritize. It gives you hope for the future and power in the present. When you have a dream, you know what to give up in order for you to go up. You can measure every decision and action according to whether or not it contributes to the dream, concentrating attention on the things that bring you closer to its fulfilment and less attention to everything that doesn’t. The dream compels you to concentrate on the few things that make a difference and keeps you on the right track, rather than wasting resources to preserve all the options, yet not moving forward!
The dream adds value to your life and work. It puts everything you do into perspective. Each activity becomes a vital piece in the bigger picture. Even the tasks that are not exciting or immediately rewarding take on added value knowing they’ll ultimately contribute.
The dream defines your future. Your dream, when pursued, is the most likely predictor of your future! Driven by a dream, you’re not just a passive spectator sitting back hoping that everything turns out all right. You’re taking an active part in shaping the purpose and meaning of your life, and the destinies of connected souls.
The divine dream will provide you with a reason to go forward (purpose), a path to follow (direction), and a target to hit (destiny fulfilment)!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
