I will abide in Your tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of Your wings – Psalm 61:4
“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will trust…” (Psa.91:4a). What a wonderful imagery! What an expression of transcendent condescension, for the eternal God to inspire the Psalmist to describe Him in such humbling words! What a picture of His matchless love and divine tenderness! Feathers and wings here are figurative of protection and care: “Keep me as the apple of Your eye, hide me under the shadow of Your wings from the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who surround me” (Psa.17:8-9).
This text reminds us of the protection of chicks under the feathers and wings of the hen. She draws them under her wings when she senses danger. She shields them from danger and harm, provides protection, assures safety, and supplies warmth. In the spiritual realms of this fallen world, human beings are just as helpless as those vulnerable chicks, but for our Divine Defender who calls us into the covering of His feathers and draws us under the power of His protective wings. We have no idea what might have become of us if not for His continuing care and compassion and His unceasing protection!
Even as the hen covers her chicks, so the Lord protects the souls who dwell in Him. He wants us to cower down beneath Him for comfort and safety. In the natural, the feather is a picture of lightness, tenderness, and feebleness; but ironically, God’s Feathers are “Power-Feathers” that are firm, wide, and strong enough to cover, defend, and protect every covenant-child of His – and we are not few! When you nestle so near the Lord, underneath His golden feathers and in the covert of His commanding wings, hawks in the sky and snares in the field are powerless to do you harm. So, come under cover!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
