Bible Meditation:
Esther 8: 1-17

And in every province and city, wherever the KING’S COMMAND and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday– Esther 8:17

There is much to learn concerning the POWER of the KING’S COMMAND:And in every province and city, wherever the KING’S COMMAND and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday(Est.8:17). The book of Esther shows how God reverses what appears to be a hopeless situation, to save His people and restore our joy. God blesses and honours those who obey Him. Esther and Mordecai lived in obedience to God’s Command. He, in turn, promoted and prospered them. Through divine orchestration, Esther’s “Mission Impossible” was accomplished. Haman, who at that time was the most powerful person in the Persian kingdom, was hung on the gallows he had built for Mordecai.

Ecclesiastes 8:4 says where the word – the decree or edict – of the king is there is power! Kings rule by decrees that cannot be controverted. Everyone under the dominion of the king must act based on his word, on the pain of severe punishment and sometimes banishment. However, because Esther was connected to the King of kings, the Holy One of Israel, not only was a Jew elevated to a prominent position of authority, but the threat of genocide was lifted as well. Esther was able to convince the king to reverse an irreversible law of Persia. And on that same day, the King gave Esther the estate of Haman.

Jesus operated in the world as King ruling over sin, sicknesses and demons by His words. He tells us: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Lk.10:19). Many people shrink back from dealing with demonic operations and activities because of the fear that somehow they have the power to harm. King Jesus dealt with and still deals with demons in such a way as to demystify their power. He expects us His disciples to follow suit. He assures us that with the authority He has given us comes immunity from being harmed by the enemy. We are to crush the powers of the enemy with the spoken word, like Jesus did.

A centurion had an encounter with Jesus when he came to Him to heal his servant who was sick unto death. When Jesus decided that He would come and heal the servant, the man said that the Lord Jesus needed to only say the word and his servant will be healed. Jesus was amazed at the understanding of this high-ranking soldier, who saw a parallel between how authority works in the natural and how it works in the spiritual (Mt.8:5-13).

In the spiritual because we don’t see how words are converted to spiritual power, influencing angels, demons, or organs of the body that need healing, it takes the operation of faith to effectively use spiritual authority. We must not allow fear or doubt to hinder us from utilising our kingly authority. Angels respond to God’s Word: “Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the VOICE of HIS WORD” (Psa.103:20). In reality, we the children of God are the ones that must “voice” His Word! We should not VOID the Word with complaints, doubt, and murmuring!

Believers in Christ have been made kings, because the King of kings is in us (Rev.1:5-6). We have His Word in our mouth as the Sword of the Spirit to engage the enemy in the unseen realm (Eph.6:16). Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minster for those who will be heirs of salvation (Heb. 1:13-14). God’s Word in the mouth of a believer has effect on angels and demons. The Word is like driving fuel to angels and burning fire to demons. Greater is He who is in us that the devil in the world (1Jh.4:4). And greater are those who are with us than those who are against us (2Kgs 6:15-17). The King is in us and where our word is there is power, as Commanders in life’s battles!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
