Ecclesiastes 4: 7-12

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor” – Ecclesiastes 4:9

A dominant model in God’s Creative Order is the POWER of PARTNERSHIP for IMPACT: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor” (Ecc.4:9). Partnership is usually more rewarding than aloneness or singleness. This principle informed human creation as “male and female” (Gen.1:26-28). The same principle applies to the Animal Kingdom as seen in God’s Instruction to Noah regarding leading pairs of animals into the Ark to be preserved: “And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you, they shall be male and female” (Gen.6:19).

Ecclesiastes 4:8-12 reflect on the value of companionship, teamwork, and support, expressing the strength and advantage of working together. It emphasizes the benefits of partnership, highlighting that working together leads to greater achievement, success, support, and resilience. Two people are better than one because they can help each other up when they fall, provide warmth, and stand stronger against opposition. A "threefold cord," representing a group of three, is even more unbreakable. The optimal case of a “threefold cord” is the triangle of a husband, his wife, and the Lord God as the third point in the tripod!

We cannot stand on our own! There is a human need for friendship – for friends who love, care, rejoice, and weep with us, and are there to pick us up when we fall. We need friends who help us persevere in life, while being such friends to others. Whether in friendship, marriage, business partnership, or ministry, having someone by the side brings encouragement and resilience. A team of two can accomplish far more than one person alone: “How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had surrendered them?” (Dt.32:30). This reality applies in many areas of life, namely:

Partnership provides mutual support: If one partner falls, the other can assist, while a solitary person would struggle without help. When people collaborate, they can share the workload, use their strengths effectively, and achieve greater productivity.

Partnership fosters comfort and warmth: A partner’s presence provides warm companionship, which is often lacking for those who are alone. Life’s struggles can feel crushing when faced alone. A partner provides comfort and emotional support.

Partnership strengthens against adversity: Two people can withstand attacks more effectively than one alone. A "threefold cord" is even more resilient.

Partnership underscores the Importance of Community: There is inestimable value in having friends and partners who can offer encouragement and support in times of need.

Matthew 18:19 states the Power of Agreement: Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
