POWER TO RIDE ON HIGH

He made him RIDE ON the HIGH PLACES of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and He made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock – Deuteronomy 32:13

The eagle is distinct, outstanding and unique. It soars to greater heights than other birds. You are not likely to see an eagle flying low, except to snatch its prey and up it returns. It deliberately selects the higher routes in the airways, rather than the lower routes. It is not made for the ground. An eagle on the ground is vulnerable to attack by predators like snakes and wolves; so the mother-eagle forcefully pushes her young out of the nest, training them to fly and ride on high (Deut.32:11-12). The eagle’s altitude transforms its attitude. The Word of God uses the metaphor of the eagle training her eaglets to depict God’s relationship with His children. God MAKES (teaches, trains, equips, and empowers) His children to RIDE on high, to EAT in abundance, and to SUCK the sweetness and the wealth of the earth!

Ephesians 2:6 uses similar imagery to portray our Lord Jesus Christ and believers in Him: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph.2:6). The Lord is raised and sits far above all dominion, power, or throne (Eph.1:20-21). He is positioned far higher than all satanic and human authorities and therefore surpassing in power. All other powers are beneath His feet (Eph.1:22). He treads triumphantly over the powers of darkness, and none of them can resist Him. As He is positioned in heavenly places, so also are believers. He empowers us to tread unhurt “on serpents and scorpions and over ALL the power of the enemy” (Lk.10:19).

Jesus is not a crawler. He rides on the higher places of the earth. He reigns in the heavenly places. Anyone who is riding on eagle’s wings will automatically soar as high as the eagle. Every child of the Eternal Eagle is also an eaglet. Jesus nurtures and empowers us to soar in life. By His divine empowerment, you will RIDE on the high places of the earth. You will EAT the INCREASE of the fields, not the crumbs under the table. You will SUCK HONEY of supernatural satisfaction and sweetness out of the rock (seemingly impossible situations), and OIL (of anointing and wealth) out of the flinty rock. Jesus, the Rock – our Reservoir of Redemption – will never cease to release His blessings into your bosom.

It is time to reconnect with who you are, and where you are positioned in Christ. Do not be afraid of any elemental forces – witches, wizards, occultists, and their driving demons. In Christ, you ride and operate FAR ABOVE them. Put the enemies to flight; never turn your back on them. Never allow complacency to clip your wings. As you wait on the Lord, you will get fresh strength to spread out your wings and soar like an eagle. You will run and not be tired, walk and not faint (Isa.40:31). Soaring on the current of the Holy Spirit, no demonic power is permitted to catch up with you or lay hands on you.
