Bible Meditation:
Psalm 37: 23-31

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delights in his way – Psalm 37:23

Yesterday, we meditated on the need to “Take the Next Step.” However, such could be a step into rejoicing or into regrets. But, when God directs your steps, you will never end up in regret: “the steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD…” (Ps.37:23). Ironically, the next verse suggests that one whose steps are ordered by the Lord could still fall, but he will not be utterly cast down. Nobody is born perfect. We are all growing and must trust the Lord to uphold us even if we fall. Once you’ve repented, get your mind off past errors, failures or mistakes, and set it on the Lord Jesus. A Japanese proverb says: “Fall seven times; stand up eight”! Psalm 37: 31 also says, “The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.”

Knowing the Power of One Step, we would be careful to ensure that we walk with God and are guided to take the right steps. On July 20, 1969, history was made, as humanity watched the astronaut of Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong become the first human to set foot on the moon; and as he said, “That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind.” Similarly, what seems like a small step can be a giant leap in our journey of faith in Christ. The farthest trip starts with a single step.

Never underestimate the power of a divinely-directed step. So often we hope our lives will change through a giant leap of faith, a profound decision, or a significant act of service. In reality, the most enduring change is usually one step at a time – a step of heartfelt obedience toward the Lord. It is often when the stories of lives are told that we realise the power of One Step; and come to know that every step counts. In many Bible instances, it took just one step of obedience to secure a future and a destiny.

God cares about every step you take or plan to take. He cares about the direction of your walk, ways, and steps. Even though you may device your ways, God wants to direct your steps (Pro. 16:9). On a daily basis, you and I are called upon to take one step after another, to make choices and take decisions, and to make one move or the other. It is therefore good to “ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established” (Pro.4:26). Most assuredly, every step of obedience you take would be a giant step to blessing.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
