THE PRAISE CURE

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice! – Philippians 4:4

Throughout the ages, humanity has made numerous attempts to devise and apply diverse forms of cure for various kinds of ailment – physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual. Different types of therapy are being applied by doctors, psychiatrics, counsellors, and spiritual ministers, to alleviate human infirmities. Yet, there is a God-given therapy that has been largely neglected due to human pride, self-dependence, foolishness, and ignorance. Whilst God offers a workable cure, many people continue to pursue shadows and are constantly disappointed.

There is great deliverance within the reach of every believer on earth – it is found in praising God from a heart of love and an attitude of gratitude. Praise is a divine cure that works supernaturally and consistently; a cure that doesn’t cost money. Not because it is cheap, but because Someone paid the ultimate price for it. This cure cost the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, His very Life. It was purchased and executed by the blood of Jesus on Calvary, when He paid for our redemption.

Even in the Old Testament, when eternal Redemption was still a promise, God had given the revelation of Praise as a highly beneficial cure. Israel experienced mighty exploits through praise. The Praise Cure, when administered faithfully is highly effectual. It is a pleasant and productive therapy, based on God’s Word. Many people are going through unnecessary pain and pressure because they are big on requests and complaints, but short in praise.

However, while Praise comes with countless benefits, you are to praise God, not just for the anticipated results. As long as you praise God with an eye secretly looking for the expected results, you’re only kidding yourself. Praise Him for Who He is and for your present situation. Let your thanks be habitually more than your requests. “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil.4:4). “Rejoice always…in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1The.5:16,18). Cease from murmuring. Cut off complaining. Win over worry. Give thanks always. Praise God! Alleluia!!
