“ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is PROFITABLE for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” – 2 Timothy 3:16
Every positive response towards God’s Word is purposed to PROFITING in the WORD: “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is PROFITABLE…” (2Tim.3:16a). Living in today’s world is especially challenging for believers. We are surrounded by deception and temptations and need God’s grace, guidance, and wisdom to help us navigate with an eternal perspective. The most valuable tool we have in this process is the Word of God – the Bible. God gave us His Word to profit us in every aspect of life, and His Word cannot but be profitable because it is living, dynamic, and powerful; His Word is spirit and life (Heb.4:12; Jh.6:63).
God’s Word makes the difference in our lives, equipping us for godly and prosperous living – fullness of life! Joshua was shown the secret to prosperity: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Jos.1:8). The Word contains and brings us into our inheritance as His children: “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the WORD of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).
Here are four of the many ways our heavenly Father uses His Word in our lives:
For Teaching: God is able to reveal fresh truths to our hearts every time we read or are taught the Scriptures. His Word is filled with commands, principles, and examples that show us who our Father is, what He does, and how He wants us to live.
For Reproof: Scripture is likened to a sword that cuts and reveals – “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb.4:12). That’s why we sometimes feel convicted when a passage of scripture uncovers sin or prompts us to consider what may be hindering our walk with Christ.
For Correction: God’s Word does more than simply convict us; it corrects and straightens us. It points out what we should do to turn around and get back on the path of obedience.
For Instruction or Training in Righteousness: As we read, study, pray, and meditate on His Word, we gradually absorb His knowledge, wisdom and understanding to progress in living righteously and obediently. The Word trains us to live God’s way.
The ultimate result of this fourfold work of Scripture is that we will become “complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2Tim.3:17). This is “God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone” (2Tim.3:17 TLB). And that surely is what we need: No matter what circumstance, challenge, or trial arises, the truth of God’s Word will help us face it effectively by trusting Him and responding as He desires.
God’s Word is profitable as:
A Mirror to behold and reflect (Jam. 1:22-25; 2 Cor.3:18)
A Sword to fight with and to divide (Eph. 6:17; Heb. 4:12)
A lamp to guide and direct (Psa. 119:105)
A Laver to cleanse (Eph.5:26; Jh.15:3).
Seed to regenerate and multiply (1Pet. 1:23)
Bread to strengthen and nourish (Jh. 6)
Milk for growth and development (1Pet. 2:2)
Meat for maturity (Heb.5:11-14)
Honey for dessert (Psa.19:10)
Hammer to convict and Fire to refine (Jer.23:29)
Rain and snow to refresh (Isa.55:10)
Gold to enrich (Psa.19:10).
God’s Word is profitable for all who hear, listen to, read, study, meditate in, practise and obey it in faith. His Word is designed for the providential benefit of His people. Every genuine encounter with His Word enhances and adds value to your life!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
