“I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” – Psalm 37:25
Scriptures abound with affirmative PROMISES OF DIVINE PROVISIONS: “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” (Psa.37:25). Today’s meditation passage is a powerful, experiential testimony from King David regarding God’s faithfulness in providing for those who walk in righteousness. It contrasts the lifestyle of the wicked with the stability of the godly, promising that divine provision is not just for the individual, but also for their descendants. The righteous will not be abandoned by God, and their children will not be reduced to begging for bread. Lifelong sustenance will be their portion.
Divine Provision recognises the Power to Give, not just receive: “The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows mercy and gives” (v.21). The righteous are not only spared from destitution but are enabled to show mercy and give. Also, those blessed by God will possess the land and its blessings (v.22). God’s Provisions include orders steps, Divine Approval, and support in times of failure. God establishes, directs, and takes pleasure in the daily path of the righteous (v.23). Even in stumbling or facing setbacks, they will not be utterly destroyed or "hurled headlong," because God holds their hand (v.24).
David spoke from a lifetime of observation. He witnessed wars, famines, and his own times of exile, yet concluded that God’s covenantal care never fail in the long run (v.25). This is not a Formula, but a principle. It is also not an absolute promise that the righteous never encounter poverty. What’s certain is that God will not leave His people in final or total destitution. By the “Seed” Promise, provisions extend to the next generation. God intervenes before the righteous reach the state of “begging bread” – absolute, shameful helplessness. The righteous, being consistently merciful, create a legacy of blessing for the descendants (v.26). “...and his descendants are blessed” (v.26):
Beloved, in Jesus’ Name, I declare that:
I am the blessed of the Lord, and possess my inheritance in this land. My steps are ordered by the Lord; devoid of destruction.
God’s Mercy is upon me to be a lender to nations, not a borrower. If I stumble, I shall not be utterly cast down, for He upholds my hand.
I will not be, forsaken by God, regardless of life’s challenges. My children shall not beg for bread, and they shall not roam the streets.
I am empowered by divine grace to show mercy and give freely. We are blessed and are a source of blessing to their generation.
The LORD takes delight in my way; therefore, His favour surrounds me as a shield. I am not, and cannot be, abandoned by God.
In days of famine, I shall be satisfied, and my storehouses shall not be empty. God’s Hand is upon me to build, to plant, and to prosper.

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
