PROPHESY THE COVENANT OF HEALTH

“He sent HIS WORD and HEALED them and delivered them from their destructions” – Psalm 107:20

One of the keys to perfecting Divine Health is to PROPHESY THE COVENANT of HEALTH: “He sent HIS WORD and HEALED them and delivered them from their destructions” (Psa.107:20). God’s Word is the carrier of His Power. He sends His Covenant Word of Health and Healing to convey POWER to HEAL and to deliver!

Transgression and iniquities are the primary drivers of affliction: “Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted” (v.17). Some of such afflictions could cause deep depression and near-death consequences: “Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near to the gates of death” (v.18). However, when God’s people “cried out to the LORD in their trouble,” by His Mercy, “He saved them out of their distresses” (v.19). It does not matter the depth of depression and distress or the nearness to the gates of death, once the LORD SENDS HIS WORD, His Power for healing, deliverance, and restoration will come into manifestation: “HE SENT HIS WORD and HEALED them…” (v.20a).

Silence in the face of affliction and suffering is not a divine virtue. God’s people could have been slaughtered in silence or crushed by afflictions, attacks, and distresses if they did not cry out “to the LORD in their trouble” (v.19a). The ideal is that the believer learns to commune with the Lord in worship, prayer, and the Word daily and habitually, not only when trouble knocks. But, in the worst case scenario, there is no better option than to cry to Him in the time of trouble, knowing that: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psa.46:1). He has severally assured that He’ll hear, heal, and deliver us from troubles: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me” (Psa.50:15).

The Believer does not shrink from trouble, but by faith, faces oppositions with praises, prayers and prophetic declarations. David chose to sing of God’s power to overcome trouble: “But I WILL SING of Your power; Yes, I WILL SING aloud of Your mercy in the morning; for You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble” (Psa.59:16). God admonishes that we also call upon Him in prayer: “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him” (Psa.91:15). In Jehoshaphat’s case, after seeking and asking help from the Lord, the prophetic Word was combined with the weapon of praise to secure supernatural deliverance and victory (2Chr.20: 3-4;14-17).

Prayer, Praise, and Prophesying are avenues through which GOD SENDS HIS WORD for whatever he has covenanted with His people – whether redemption, salvation, deliverance, provisions, prosperity, healing or health. The Capernaum Centurion knew the Power in the Sent Word, when he told the Lord: “ONLY SPEAK A WORD, and my servant will be healed” (Mt.8:8b). The Lord is calling us to prophesy and praise our way into marvellous manifestations of divine health!

I am a child of God, bought by the Blood of Jesus, and saved from sin and Satan. My Father God is Jehovah-Rapha – my Deliverer and Healer.

God’s Word is my medicine. He is watching over His Word to perform it. His Word contains the ability to produce what it says. His Word is full of healing power. As I meditate on and declare His Sent Word, I receive the healing therein.

Perfect health is intrinsic in God’s nature, and my body is His temple. My God is bigger than sickness and Satan. Healing is in God, and God is in me. Therefore, my body responds positively to God’s healing life at work in me.

God’s sent Word has healed me and delivered me from every form of destruction. Therefore, I will “give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works” to me and all mine. I will “sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing” (vv.21-22).
