Bible Meditation:
Psalm 121: 1-8

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night – Psalm 121:6.

Surely He will deliver you… from the perilous pestilence” (Psa.91:3b). The King James calls this, “noisome pestilence” which literally means “pestilence of calamities”! Something ‘noisome’ is annoying, disgusting, foul, offensive, harmful, loathsome, and often smelling badly. In the Bible, it describes a deadly and overwhelming disease that affects an entire community and could wipe out multitudes in a moment. Perilous pestilence is a fatal pestilence, which spreads death in its march, such as the world is currently experiencing with the recent devastating hurricanes Harley and Irma. May God's Mercy speak louder than the noise of many waters; may multitude of souls be saved, defended, and delivered from these pestilences, in Jesus name.

The noisome or perilous pestilence speaks of a dangerous epidemic, a devastating calamity, a rushing, smiting, sad plague or disaster of catastrophic dimensions; one that sweeps everything before it. Pestilence can refer to an angry, raging hurricane sweeping the sea, a terrifying tornado shaking the mountain or roaring earthquake that causes nations to tremble. The nature of the perilous pestilence is to spread, sweep, spoil, and rush upon. It is contagious, infectious, grievous, and endangers those that come near it. 2 Samuel 24:15 describes how seventy thousand souls were slain in three days. Even then, the LORD tempered His Justice with His Mercy and stemmed the tide of death!

Another root meaning of the word ‘pestilence’ signifies ‘to speak’ and speak out; the pestilence is a speaking thing. It is a messenger of woeful fears, sorrows, pains, losses, desolation, and death. Revelation 16: 2 says “So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image.” The Hebrew root signifies ‘to destroy’ or ‘to cut off.’ In its worst depiction, pestilence proclaims Death, as illustrated by the messenger on the pale horse that was empowered to kill with sword, hunger, death, and beasts of the earth (Rev.6:8).

Praise God, He is mightier than every pestilence – whether deadly, noisome, perilous, or destroying. The Lord can prevent its coming upon you or save you from its ravages. God is the Defender and Protector of His people; hence, you must put your trust in him. Pestilences bring human dependences to shame. Trust in God; do not lean on your own understanding; do not rest your confidence in the arm of flesh that fails, and surely you will be delivered from the perilous pestilence!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
