“All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His PURPOSE” – Romans 8:28b

Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life” is a classic on understanding PURPOSE-DRIVEN IMPACT: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Rom.8:28-29). Warren offers a spiritual guide to the journey of discovering life’s purpose in God’s Plan and living with intentionality. 

To Rick, Life is not an accident but was planned by God, and discovering His purpose for our life is key to finding meaning and hope. God created each person with a specific reason and purpose. He is the Source of Significance. Meaning and Purpose are found when God is at the center of our life. Moreover, He cherishes our spiritual character over our comfort. This masterpiece manual focuses on five dimensions of purpose, namely: Worship, Fellowship, Maturity, Ministry, and Missions. 

Worship: “To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” (Isa.613). We were PLANNED for GOD’S PLEASURE. Life's ultimate purpose is to love and worship God.

Fellowship: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (Jh.15:5); “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another” (Rom.12:5). We were FORMED for GOD’S FAMILY; created to be part of His Family and experience fellowship in a community of Believers.

Maturity: “Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving” (Col.2:7). We were CREATED to become like CHRIST – to grow spiritually and be conformed to His Image (v.29).

Ministry: “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” (1Cor.3: 5-6). We were SHAPED for SERVING GOD. Our lives are intended and designed to serve God and humanity through our unique gifts and abilities.

Mission: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise” (Pro.11:30). “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2Cor.2:14). We were MADE for a MISSION. We have a specific mission to share God's Love, Life, and Light with others.
