REFLECTIONS ON LOVE

But the FRUIT of the Spirit is LOVE… – Galatians 5:22a

All the praise be to the Lord for giving us the opportunity to meditate on the theme of LOVE, blessing us with the REVELATION of LOVE, and ushering us into a REVOLUTION of LOVE. It is apt to reflect on the rich insight gained so far. Here are few tit-bits of the nuggets of revelation:

GOD is LOVE – AGAPE – divine, unconditional, active, volitional, and thoughtful. No perspective on love could ever compare with that of the One described by the Apostle of the Lamb, John thus: “GOD is LOVE” (1 Jh.4:7-8). How’s your Love Life? The only way to answer that pertinent question is to measure your love life in the light of God’s Word and His description of what love is.

God desires that we ‘LIVE LOVE.’ In our pursuit of big dreams and the desire to do big things for God, we often become oblivious to the little ASSIGNMENTS of LOVE that life readily offers us. God is not demanding our occasional ‘mighty’ acts of kindness, but that we LIVE LOVE on a perpetual basis; always thinking of and seeking for ways to bless and make life better for others.

A life of IMPACTFUL LOVE is superior to a life of impressive achievements. God calls us to LIVE LOVE and make a positive difference in our circles of influence; and we can. God entrusts us with small but significant assignments to bless our little corners of His world. A little gift placed in the hands of our big God can change the world. What good is there in rushing through life and missing out on its essence – LOVE?

Through the confusing, complicated, and messy seasons of life, it is wise to LET LOVE GUIDE! This means: Do the next small right thing, the right way, and right away. Find the immediate small right thing to do that will negate the negativity. It may be small, but it could be significant in impact! Allow love to hold your hand and empower you in every situation. Hurt people hurt people. Refuse to retaliate or to respond out of hurt. Let love guide you, not hurt or hatred.

LOVE is ACTION; it is more than an EMOTION. LOVE is the GREATEST of virtues. We cannot afford to pay “lip-service” to love. We must love IN DEED, not just IN WORD or in tongue. Above all, LOVE is the FRUIT of the SPIRIT – the truest reflection of life in the Spirit (Gal.5:22-23).
