RESTORATION TO LIFE

These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up” – John 11:11

The Lord Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life (v. 25). He who woke Lazarus from the “sleep of death” will wake up everything of value that may be sick or dying in your life. He will do this in His own way and in His own time! Think of how the Lord handled the situation of Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha. Jesus loved Lazarus and his two sisters. Yet, on hearing of his sickness, the One who knew of the condition before it happened did not rush to the scene to heal His friend. In fact, this initial ‘delay’ which seemed like a lack of care or compassion, was actually for the glory of God: “When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it” (v.4).

God knows every detail about whatever you are passing through and He has definite plans of restoration in mind for you. “Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:18). God is always on time. He is never too early, and He is never too late. His schedule is set on purpose; not only for your sake but also for His purpose. In all things, His Name shall be glorified. The Lord had fore-known that Lazarus’ restoration from the dead will fulfill His purpose and manifest His Glory far beyond healing him of the sickness; and it did! Even where delay had caused degeneration and decay, God manifested complete restoration of health and life. The God of Lazarus is alive and well. You also can encounter His Restoration in your life.

Lazarus’ sisters waited for Jesus to come till the time they concluded it was all over. Though there seemed to have been a temporary denial, they were not disappointed at the end because when it was time for Him to act according to His schedule, their mourning turned to joy and they sang a new song. For every child of God meditating in this Capstone Capsule today, be aware that God knows of that situation you are wading through for which you earnestly desire a change – restoration. The Lord will step into your case according to His timing and purpose, to turn the hopeless situation into a mighty testimony.

Even in the matter of restoration, God works according to His own time-table, which is not necessarily in tune with yours. But His time-table is the perfect and most beneficial one. Trust in God’s Timing. Be settled in His Schedule. Rest on His Word. Someone out there is on the threshold of God turning the table in your favour and turning it against your adversaries. Your situation will soon become a testimony for great Joy and Celebration; one that would bring great glory to God. Alleluia!
