He shall feed HIS FLOCK like a SHEPHERD: He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young – Isaiah 40:11
Welcome to August, the Month of our SHEPHERD – the Good Shepherd, the Great Shepherd, and the Chief Shepherd! The LORD is leading us to meditate on the Ministry of the SHEPHERD of OUR SOULS – a ministry that is both present-day and eternal in dimensions. Our Shepherd is not a stranger to shepherds. He is the Caller and the Shepherd of shepherds. He relocated Moses from Pharaoh’s palace, trained him on the backside of Sinai, and called him to shepherd His people – Israel – out of Egypt, into the promised land of Canaan. Much later, God chose, called, and anointed David, the rusty shepherd boy, to become king over Israel.
This month we’ll spend quality-time to meditate in the Twenty-third psalm, one of the best known passages in the entire Bible. Today, however, we see Isaiah’s depiction of the LORD as our eternally-qualified Shepherd. The things that qualify Him as the Shepherd of our souls are found in Isaiah 40: 10-31. His strong hand will manifest; His arm will rule for Him; and His reward and work will accompany Him (Is.40:10). He holds the oceans in the hollow of His hand and heaven within His span. He measures the dust of the earth and the mountains on scales, and the hills in a balance (Is.40:12). Isaiah prophesied concerning the Shepherd of our souls that:
This month, the above blessings and much more will be your portions in Jesus name. These bring to mind the wordings of a beautiful song. Let us meditate and meaningfully reflect on these:
“Shepherd of my soul, I give you full control
Wherever you may lead, I will follow
I have made the choice to listen for Your Voice
Wherever You may lead, I will go.
be it in a quiet pasture, or by a gentle stream
The Shepherd of my soul is by my side
Should I face are mighty mountain or a valley dark and deep
The Shepherd of my soul will be my guide.”

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
