SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE (2)

“You have an ANOINTING from the Holy One, and YOU KNOW ALL THINGS” – 1 John 2:20

Through the Indwelling Holy Spirit, the Believer’s SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE potentially covers ALL THINGS: “You have an ANOINTING from the Holy One, and YOU KNOW ALL THINGS. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because YOU KNOW IT, and that no lie is of the truth (1Jh.2: 20-21). This does not make us “know-it-alls” but resident is us is He Who KNOWS ALL THINGS!

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit – the Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, and Helper – would lead us into ALL TRUTH (Jh.16:13). God’s Spirit inspired the writing of the Scriptures: “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2Tim.3:16-17). Alive in us, He helps us to KNOW, understand, discern, and live His Truth: “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches ALL THINGS, yes, the DEEP THINGS of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one KNOWS the things of God except the Spirit of God” (1Cor.2: 10-11). The Omniscient One dwells within us!

The Spirit of the Living God lives in us: “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might KNOW the THINGS that have been freely given to us by God” (1Cor.2:13). To what extent are we yielded to the Holy Spirit and abiding in the Word of God, seeking to be informed and transformed by Him? Are we asking the Holy Spirit to filter, correct, test, and redeem what we think, read, hear, see, and do? Rather than succumbing to the lie that all truth is subjective, we ought to subject what we think, read, hear, see, and do to the Spirit of Truth! How exhilarating it is to know that: “We have the MIND of CHRIST” (1Cor.2:16).

Jesus Christ is the Ultimate Meaning of all Reality. To KNOW HIM is to have access to ALL that there is to know! All Knowledge, Wisdom, and Riches originate in Him, are held in existence by Him, and have as purpose to make Him known: “In Whom are hidden ALL the treasures of Wisdom and KNOWLEDGE” (Col.2:3). Nothing can be fully or rightly known that is not known in relation to Jesus Christ. Romans 11:33a exclaims: ^“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and KNOWLEDGE of GOD!” Paul excitedly declared: “Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the KNOWLEDGE of CHRIST JESUS my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ” (Phi.3:8). The Right Knowledge is particularly crucial in this deceptive “Last Hour” (v.18).
