“Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath” – Hebrews 6:17
STANDING ON THE PROMISES of GOD is the fourth step to entering into their prefection: “Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath” (Heb.6:17). We all have made promises to people and had promises made to us from others. We have often fallen short or failed to perform these promises, not because we intended to, but because we are human. God is different. We can bank on and trust Him to make good on His promise. Here are two tenable reasons why we can stand on His promises:
First, is God’s Immutability! His promises cannot fail because His immutable nature makes them reliable and dependable. God is unchanging in His Character, Will and Promises. Therefore, we can totally rest in His reliability to keep promises. His Integrity makes it impossible for Him to lie: “that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us” (Heb. 6:18). We can trust God without wavering or hesitation: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Num.23:19).
Second, is the nature of God’s Word, which is based on His character: since God is faithful, His word is reliable. The Lord is “…upholding all things by the word of His power…” (Heb.1:3). And, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Heb.11:3). Here are five distinct qualities of God’s Word that guarantee that it cannot fail, thereby we can rely on it:
God’s word is perfect: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul…” (Psa.19:7a).
God’s word is pure: “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him” (Pro. 30:5).
God’s word is permanent: “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven” (Psa.119:89).
God’s word is perpetual: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Mt. 24:35).
God’s word is powerful: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…” (Heb. 4:12a).
The soundness of a structure or durability of a platform determines whether we can risk standing on it. Yet, we must stand on something to sustain and uphold us through life. The evergreen hymn – “Standing on the Promises of God” declares a simple truth: when standing on God’s promises, we cannot FALL because His promises cannot FAIL.
“Standing on the promises of Christ my King, thru eternal ages let His praises ring; glory in the highest I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.
Chorus: “Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God my Savior. Standing, standing, I'm standing on the promises of God.”
Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word of God I shall prevail, standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord, bound to Him eternally by love's strong cord, overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword, standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises I now can see perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me; standing in the liberty where Christ makes free, standing on the promises of God,
Standing on the promises" I cannot fall, list'ning ev'ry moment to the Spirit's call, resting in my Savior as my all in all, standing on the promises of God”
No matter how the situation looks in your life right now, you can stand on the sure promises of God. Live confidently in this truth. Always carry this tune as a reminder: “Standing, standing, I'm standing on the promises of God.”

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
