STEP INTO YOUR DESTINY

"And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it" – Numbers 13:30

Beloved, you must STEP INTO YOUR DESTINY: “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Num.13:30). As we begin a New Year, we stand on the brink of vital decisions that will affect the trajectory of our lives in the coming seasons. Just like Israel stood on the brink of the Promised Land, we each must decide whether we will confront our “giants” and enter into God’s full purposes, or shrink back in fear, and unbelief.

The Bible is a Book about destiny – the great plan that God has for each of us. Our Heavenly Father promises that we can trust Him, for He wants what is best for us: “For I know the PLANS I have for you,” declares the Lord, “PLANS to prosper you and not to harm you, PLANS to give you hope and a future” (Jer.29:11 NIV). God has plans for your welfare and not for calamity, to prosper you and not to harm you, and to give you hope and a future. In Christ Jesus, your future is colourful and glorious!

God assures us not only of His great love, but also of His desire to bless us so we can be a blessing to others: “I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing“ (Gen.12:2). God told His people about the wonderful land the Lord had prepared for them: “For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing…” (Deut. 8:7-9). What a land – so rich in resources! I’m convinced this is still the Will of our Heavenly Father for us!

Unfortunately, so few people seem to be living in the abundant blessings that God offers. There’s a battle going on! Satan fights us every inch of the way as we pursue the Lord’s destiny for our lives: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (Jh.10:10). God’s will for you is blessing and abundance life. The devil’s will is bondage, destruction, and death. In many ways, the choice is yours as to which will be. For many people, life is somewhere in between. They want God’s will for their lives, but they also witness many ways that Satan has hindered them from full obedience and victory.

God has equipped you with the weapons required to overcome the enemy and the world, win the battle and take back what the enemy has stolen. Faith is the key: “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” (1Jh.5:4). The Lord wants you to live above your circumstances, triumphing in every area of life: “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us ^[a]diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (1Cor.2:14).

You must be willing to CONFRONT THE “GIANTS” blocking you from your Canaan – negative footholds you’re struggling with in marriage, health, finances, habits or emotions. Instead of pretending everything is okay, you must be honest with God and with yourself. You must confront weights of besetting sins (Heb.12:1); ‘giant’ of fear (2Tim.1:7); and all demonic strongholds – in your thoughts, emotions, and spiritual environment (2Cor.10:4-6). God will help you to defeat every giant – but you must get real with Him! As long as you belong to Christ, the battle is the Lord’s. Don’t let any Goliath intimidate you and keep you back from your destiny. It’s time to STEP INTO YOUR DESTINY to possess your Promised Land!
