SUPERNATURAL

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him – Colossians 1:16

There is a natural, visible, material world and an invisible spirit-world. The latter is also called the SUPERNATURAL realm. Colossians 1:6 distinguishes between things in heaven and things on earth; and between visible and invisible things. The supernatural realm is the dimension of creation that operates above and beyond natural laws. It is permanent, physically invisible and intangible, and eternal – located outside time: “We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2Cor.4:18).The Supernatural is the foundation, nucleus and control room of all things, whether visible or invisible, tangible or intangible. The supernatural exercises dominion over the natural realm. The natural answers to the supernatural.

God is a Spirit. He demands the communion of spirits; hence He created Man in His Image and likeness – as a spirit-being. God is supernatural. He made us to be supernatural. For you to live a fulfilled life on earth, you must understand the supernatural life. The knowledge of the supernatural is very relevant to a life of dominion, victory, and triumph. Your making is rooted in the supernatural. You are a spirit after the order of your Creator. You must re-discover your roots in God in order to unlock the vast potential of the supernatural for your well-being and fulfilment in life. God wants you to be supernatural in attitude, outlook, thinking, talking, relating and actions. Otherwise, the natural realm or the dark side of the supernatural realm will govern and dominate over you! Living and operating in the supernatural realm are by choice, not by chance!

The Supernatural realm is a real world in which two main forces operate: God and the forces of light and good and the devil and his forces of darkness and evil. The two are however incomparable: God is the Almighty Creator, the Source of being and Possessor of all powers; the devil is a created being. God did not create the devil as the evil one he now is. He was archangel Lucifer (the shining one) an angel of light, who fell due to sin, was cast down from heaven, and began his mission of counterfeiting and trying to reverse everything God had created (Isa.14:12-14; Ezek.28:12-15)! Through Satan’s subtlety, man “died”, was dethroned to the natural realm and driven out of the Garden of Eden (Gen.3:22-24). Due to disobedience and sin, man entered into a negative phase of existence, having lost the vital spiritual force that sustained him. Today, the entire world lies in a negative spiritual magnetic field of wickedness, and evil thrives by remote control (1Jh.5:19).

So, not all that is supernatural is of God! There is the positive supernatural as well as the negative. God lives and operates in the supernatural, and so does the devil; but the difference is always clear. There are miracles and there is magic. Moses moved in miracles, while Pharaoh’s magicians worked their magic, but the miraculous swallowed up the magical (Exo.7:12). There is prophetic inspiration by the Holy Spirit, but also divination through demonic spirits. It is the Word of God that separates the real from the counterfeit. Those who fail to differentiate the two, end up being deluded into cultism, heresies, the occult, enchantment, idolatry, spiritism, sorcery, magic, witchcraft, necromancy, and other masquerades of demonic forces. These are abominations before God (Dt.18:10-12; Isa.8:19-20; Acts 19:19). Beloved, you are either connected to God or to Satan. You either live supernaturally in God’s Kingdom of Light or serve Satan by deceit or default in the kingdom of darkness. You either exercise dominion in the spirit realm or be dominated and end up becoming the devil’s mincemeat!

The Good News is: for us who are in Christ, God has “delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col.1:13)!
