SUPERNATURAL POWER

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them POWER and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases – Luke 9:1

God is a Spirit (Jh.4:23). He is Supernatural. He commands all natural and SUPERNATURAL POWERS! There are natural, material realms and supernatural, spirit-realms. Supernatural realms are real. Reality cannot always be seen, but it can be discerned and discovered. The supernatural realm is the dimension that operates above and beyond natural laws. It is permanent, invisible, and eternal – located outside of time – and it exercises dominion over the natural realm. The Supernatural is the foundation and fulcrum of all things. The natural answers to the supernatural. The most significant reality that we must each discover in life is the reality of our Supernatural God. Man has often tried to know God through intellectual means, but these attempts have proved insufficient. We can intellectually know facts and information about God, but we come to know our invisible, supernatural Creator personally through Revelation! We must enter the experience of knowing God in the supernatural realm in order to walk in His supernatural power.

God has plastered ample evidence of Himself in the created world – in the intricateness, orderliness, and beauty of the nature around us. Yet, when we contemplate the greatness of His creation, our finite imaginations still cannot fathom His vast and immense power. God in turn made human beings to be supernatural “spirit beings”: “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over…” (Gen.1:26a). There are natural and supernatural powers, which manifest in either positive or negative forms. Two main forces dominate the world: forces of good and of evil. Almighty God, the Source of all powers, leads the forces of good; while the devil, a fallen angel, drives the forces of evil. God did not create the devil as the evil one he now is. He was Lucifer, an angel of light, who fell due to sin, was cast down from heaven, and began his mission of counterfeiting or counteracting everything that is of God! Angels are positive spirit beings, whereas demons are negative spirit beings.

Through Satan’s subtlety, humanity was dethroned from the supernatural realm and driven out of Eden. Man was demoted to a negative phase of existence, having lost the vital spiritual force that sustained him. Today, the entire world lies in a negative spiritual magnetic field of evil. You are either connected to God or to the devil. You either live by God’s supernatural power or end up as the devil’s meat! Jesus came on a mission to restore humanity from a perishing state to the elevated status of supernatural life in God which Adam lost to Satan. Through the new birth, you can once again live supernaturally on earth. As a new creature, you have God’s supernatural nature within and can live by His power at work in you: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the POWER THAT WORKS IN US” (Eph.3:20). Your making is rooted in the supernatural. You are a spirit, made in the Image of your Maker. Step out of the natural into the supernatural!

Jesus not only lived and walked in the supernatural, He empowered and mandated His disciples to do so: “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them POWER and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases” (Lk.9:1). He went on to feed the multitude miraculously (vv.12-17). We are called to be humble and faithful Stewards of His Supernatural Power. The knowledge of the supernatural is vital to a life of dominion and triumph. We must re-discover our roots in God in order to access the vast potential of the supernatural for our well-being; otherwise natural forces and negative supernatural powers could dominate over us! It’s time to breakthrough status quo, beyond routine religion and powerless prayers, and step into supernatural realms. It’s time to develop spiritual thirst and longing that’ll drive us into deeper communion with the Holy Spirit. Walking intimately with Him and having deep grounding in His Word are essential for the release of His tremendous supernatural power through us.
