SUPERNATURAL SECURITY AND SAFETY

…Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper – 2 Chronicles 20:20

“Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked” (Psa.91:8). Let’s meditate the more on this eighth verse of our Psalm of Divine Defence. It is quite interesting how this Psalm repeatedly talks about Supernatural Security and Safety in one form or the other. God as our refuge of redemption, fortress of faith, and shadow-provider, illustrate security. Being covered with His formidable feathers, protected under His powerful wings, and hidden in His secret place, demonstrate safety. The security and safety of His people are God's priority.

How marvellous it is that our Father-God preserves us in life’s battles, while we observe Him beat down the enemies. King Jehoshaphat must have marvelled in like manner, when God ambushed his enemy and slew them all (2 Chr.20:25-27). Pharaoh and the Egyptians acted wickedly against the children of Israel and disobeyed God’s instructions to let go of the Israelites. The consequences were so grim that when God finished with them, all that Israel beheld was their destruction!

For you to continue to be a recipient of divine defence, you must learn to dwell in the secret place of the Most High. The “wicked” that will be rewarded with judgement are not only the thieves, adulterers, and murderers. The wicked include those who by sinful practices make mockery of sin, and of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. When demons in darkness and God’s angels of Light draw the battle line, God ensures that you are only a spectator, privileged to watch the fight. As you walk in the Light of God’s Word, you will become light in the Lord, despite the enemies being in the dark.

God has called us to come under the Covering of His Word and His Spirit, not under the umbrella of any religion! Religion is not the answer to redemption. Christ is the Answer to the questions of Sin, condemnation, suffering, evil, and wickedness. When you abide under the shadow of the Almighty, your head will be lifted up above the machinations of cultists, witches, wizards, enchanters, and sorcerers. God could even give you the privilege to watch the enemies destroy one another. Will you believe in the Lord your God? Will you believe in His Prophetic Word? Yes? You shall be established and prosper!
