Bible Meditation:
Psalm 25: 1-15

“He leads me in the paths of righteousness…” – Psalm 23:3b

In this tough and tortuous world of conflicts and crisis, we need SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY of DIRECTION: “He leads me in the paths of righteousness…” (Psa.23:3b). It is not given to man to direct himself: “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself: It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps” (Jer.10:23). Psalm 25 underlines the power of prayer for Divine Direction: Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.  Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (vv.4-5); “The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way” (v.9); “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant” (v.14). God leads only His sheep who are willing to be led (Isaiah 55:8).

The Bible presents wonderful promises of guidance and examples of those who sought and found the Lord’s will for their lives. Examples of God’s guidance in the lives of His people include: Abraham going out of his native country not knowing where he was going, being wholly dependent upon the guidance of God (Gen. 12:1); Moses and the children of Israel being led by the pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night (Exo. 13:21-22); and of Joshua (Jos. 1:6-9). In the New Testament, we see the example of Philip, who was guided of the Lord to leave Samaria and to win the eunuch to Christ (Acts 8:5 and 26).

Life is like an unmarked road with junctions, blind turns, and conflicting crossings. We need our Shepherd’s Direction, Guidance, and Leadership to make the right choices and decisions without going astray. What do we do when we don’t know what to do? When there’s no apparent right answer and no obvious wrong one? Sometimes we say, we just want what God wants, but we have no idea what that is?

God doesn’t want His will to be a mystery to us. As we draw near to Him in faith, asking Him to guide us, we’ll be divinely directed. No, He won’t write the answer in the sky, but will open the doors of direction and the gates of guidance. He’ll bring conversations, information, and opportunities our way. He’ll nudge impressions on our heart that He confirms in other ways. His methods are limitless, but one thing is sure: He will guide us! Whether it’s prayer for help with life’s challenges, for wisdom, or for discernment in relationships, it is good to turn to the Scripture for guidance. Here are some pertinent Scripture for divine direction and God’s guidance, presented as prayers:

Ask God for a humble spirit, and remind Him of His promise to lead the humble in what is right, and to teach the humble his way (Psa. 25:9).

Tell the Lord that you trust Him with all your heart, and that you don’t want to rely on your own understanding. Then commit to acknowledging Him in all your ways, and let Him know you’re trusting Him to make straight your paths (Pro. 3:5-6).

Claim God’s promise to instruct you, to teach you in the way you should go, and to counsel you with His eye upon you (Psa. 32:8).

Affirm to God that all your ways are pure in your own eyes, and that you have trouble seeing your own errors. Ask Him to “weigh your spirit” and examine your motives (Pro. 16:2).

Echo Jesus’ words: “I seek not My own will but the will of Him who sent Me” (Jh.5:30). Let God know that you just want what He wants, and ask Him to reveal that to you in His timing.

Say with the Psalmist: “Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; for to You I lift up my soul” (Psa.143:8).

Let God know that you’re asking for guidance, seeking His will, and knocking on the door of heaven. Claim His promise to give to those who ask, reveal to those who seek, and open to those who knock (Mt. 7:7-8).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
