Bible Meditation:
Psalm 68: 1-6

“God sets the solitary in FAMILIES; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land”Psalm 68:6a

Reasons abound to be THANKFUL for FAMILY: “God sets the solitary in FAMILIES; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land” (Psa.68:6). Family is a precious gift that we must always appreciate and give thanks for. Family is dear to God’s Heart, being the Fountain and Father of families: “From whom the whole FAMILY in heaven and earth is named” (Eph.3:15). Here are a few scriptural reminders of the blessings of being part of a family, encouraging us to express our gratitude and to cherish family ties:

Family relationships are essential parts of God’s Design for humanity: “It is not good that man should be alone. I will make a helper comparable to him” (Gen.2:18b). God’s intention and decision to create a companion for Adam reflects the importance of relationships.

Family members are portrayed as blessings and symbols of prosperity: “Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table” (Psa.128:3). A strong family is a source of vitality and growth, reflecting God’s blessings.

Generational blessings are reasons to be thankful for family: “Children’s children are the crown of old men, and the glory of children is their father” (Pro.17:6). Family brings Joy and Honour at different stages of life.

Family plays a key role in passing on faith and gratitude for God’s works: “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts” (Psa.145:4).

A thankful heart for family involves recognizing and appreciating their roles and contributions: “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her” (Pro.31:28). This verse highlights the honor and respect given to a virtuous woman by her family.

Thankfulness for family includes fostering harmonious relationships: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psa.133:1).

Gratitude for family means committing together to spiritual growth and service: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Jos.24:15).

Family plays a key role in fostering Faith: “When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also” (2Tim.1:5). Paul acknowledged the impact of family faith on Timothy’s spiritual life.

Showing gratitude for family means fulfilling our responsibility of diligently caring for our family: “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” (1Tim.5:8).

Thankfulness for family should be a consistent practice in acknowledging God’s provision: “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Eph.5:20). We must continuously thank God for all aspects of life, including family.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
