Bible Meditation:
Luke 2: 4-14

For there is BORN to YOU this day in the city of David a SAVIOR, who is CHRIST the LORDLuke 2:11

Today and always, let us be THANKFUL for the SAVIOUR BORN: For there is BORN to YOU this day in the city of David a SAVIOR, who is CHRIST the LORD (Lk.2:11). This is one of the most encouraging scriptures that affirms the Birth of Christ the Saviour. In another narrative of the same event, Matthew 1:20-21 says, “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

We can imagine the joy of the original recipients of this Good News! Since the Fall of Man, it became evident that humanity needed a Saviour, Who could spare us from sin’s penalty, which is death. The history of the children of Israel was filled with stories about the coming Messiah. They knew where He would be born, the name of His most famous ancestor, and had been given a hint of what His life would be like on earth (Isa.7:14; 9:6; Mic.5:2). They knew Him as the Son of God sent to save humanity from their sins. What they didn’t know was when He would be born. For thousands of years they waited for this Saviour’s birth, and probably wondered sometimes if He would still come.

Suddenly, an angel appeared to a group of shepherds and announded the Good News, which they accepted with Joy, leaving their flocks, to find out about the Blessed Baby. His Birth had great impact on earth: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (v.14). Even now, His Birth still has great impact on lives. Because He was born, lived to serve, and chose to die, we receive the Gift of Salvation as we repent from our sins, accept Him as our Saviour, and confess Him as Lord. Let’s be Thankful for the Gift of the Saviour!

As we enjoy this Season of Thankfulness and Giving, let’s remember first and foremost the Reason for the Season – Christ Jesus! Once the Reason is acknowledged as He should be, then our thankfulness becomes manifestly meaningful. God gave us HisUnspeakable Gift, His Son Jesus: “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2Cor.9:15). No gift from man will ever measure up to this Precious Gift. How often do we take the time to thank God for the Saviour? It should be every day, for without Him, where would we be? Let’s not take the Gift of the Saviour for granted or keep Him to ourselves. Let’s share Him with others who do not know Christ in the pardoning of their sins.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
