Bible Meditation:
Hebrews 4: 1-19

Let us therefore come boldly to the THRONE of GRACE that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need Hebrews 4:16

The throne of God is the THRONE of GRACE. The divine Invitation says: “Let us therefore come boldly to the THRONE of GRACE that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb.4:16). A throne does not exist in isolation, except in a palace. He who sits on this throne is “the God of all Grace” (1 Pet. 5:10). It is a privilege to be invited to His Throne and be admitted into His Palace of Grace. God wants His children to come near and embark on a profitable, prophetic, spiritual sojourn into His Palace of Grace, where our hearts prostrate before the Presence of the King of Glory.

What a humbling thought: to be invited to the Throne of the Great Monarch of the Universe. This is a Call to Prayer which can be likened to an entrance into the courts of the royalty of heaven; and we, like courtiers in the presence of our illustrious majesty. Though we approach the throne boldly by faith, it must be with the right spirit, devoid of pride and rebellion.  Boldness does not translate to impertinence or familiarity that breeds contempt. Charles Spurgeon wrote this of Him: “The King before whom we come is the highest of all monarchs, the King of kings, the Lord of lords. Emperors are but shadows of His Imperial power.” He is the blessed and only potentate (1Tim.6:15). It is as though the great hand of the Most High is stretched out of heaven handing down to us the blessings for which we asked. Praise God, we have the King’s ear.

God’s Throne has sway in all worlds: heaven obeys Him cheerfully; hell trembles at His frown; and earth yields to Him homage. His power can create or crush, make or destroy. He is the Holy of all kings. His Throne is a great White Throne, unspotted, and clear as crystal. Humanity must come to bow before the Eternal Majesty! We are permitted to come near to Him, even into His royal palace, into His secret chamber of gracious audience. We come to the throne, not to dictate, but to submit and utter our desires earnestly, vehemently, and importunately. We are called to the Throne of Grace, not to the throne of law. It is a throne set up for the dispensation of grace; one from which every utterance is an utterance of grace. The sceptre that is stretched out from it is the silver sceptre of righteousness; the decrees proclaimed from it are purposes of grace; the gifts that are released down its golden steps are gifts of grace; and He who sits on the throne is Grace Himself.

Grace is enthroned. Grace personified is installed in dignity. Grace came down to earth in the form of the well-beloved Son of God, and it met with and challenged sin. The struggle was long and hard, and grace appeared to be trampled underfoot of sin; but at last seized sin, carried sin up to the cross and nailed and slew sin there, put it to death forever, and triumphed gloriously. From then on, Grace sat on the throne having conquered sin and vanquished Satan. Therefore, at His throne of Grace, all faults are forgiven; all guilt is guillotined; all miseries melt; all holy desires are met; all needs are supplied; and all captives are set free. It is not a throne for receiving tributes; it is a throne for dispensing gifts.

Hebrews 4:16 is also a Call to enjoy Grace, experience Growth and encounter the divine. The Throne of Grace is the central focus in the Palace of Grace. From here, the King of creation sends His clarion call to all: Do not remain outside the Palace of Grace. Come, all you that labour and are heavy-laden and I will give you rest (Matt.11:28). Enter into My palace and find rest to your souls. Do not remain at the periphery of the Palace. Enter fully, and enjoy the best of Grace (2 Pet. 1:5-7).

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
