Bible Meditation:
Hebrews 3: 1-15

Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have NOT KNOWN MY WAYS Hebrews 3:10

Grave danger lies in not knowing and UNDERSTANDING GOD’S WAYS: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest’” (Heb.3: 7-11). People who choose to be ignorant of God’s Ways “always go astray in their heart” and forfeit Divine Rest (v.10). Beyond merely seeing God’s acts, Moses pressed on to know and understand God's Ways, and was found faithful (vv. 2-5).

Now, “the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus” is our ultimate Model, “worthy of more glory than Moses” (vv.1, 6). In Him, by the New Covenant, the privilege of knowing and understanding God’s Ways is offered to every Believer. It behoves us to desire, pray, be ready to learn His Ways, and be trained and led to walk in them. God is a Spirit and His Ways transcend carnal human comprehension. It takes people of the spirit to know and understand God’s Ways; and these are often in the minority. Even some believers are so preoccupied with worldliness, they miss the Ways of the Divine. These are thrilled and quick to testify about mundane matters and worldly accumulations.

King David, also often prayed to be shown God’s Ways: SHOW ME YOUR WAYS, O Lord; teach me Your paths” (Psa.25:4). Again, he prayed: “TEACH ME YOUR WAY, O Lord, and lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies” (Psa.27:11). David totally committed himself to seeking God: “TEACH ME YOUR WAY, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name” (Psa.85:11). Such should top the prayer lists of Believers in Christ: That the Lord will show and teach us His Ways, so we’ll gain understanding of the same.

It’s crucial that we grow to understand God’s Ways, and not just imitate the actions of others. This is particularly relevant in these last days, with floods of deceitful spirits invading the world to lead many astray: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1Tim.4:1). We are cautioned to: no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting” (Eph.4:14). When the Lord returns, may we not regret over how we lived, but look back over a life investing in knowing, understanding, and walking in God’s Ways.

God’s escape route from end-time deception is personally knowing and understanding God’s Ways.

Prayer:
Lord, train us to invest in knowing and UNDERSTANDING YOUR WAYS, so we’ll never regret or go astray in our hearts, in Jesus’ name.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
