Psalm 46: 1-11

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble – Psalm 46:1

In seasons of stress, when our own performance might falter, GOD is our VERY PRESENT PERFORMER: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psa.46:1). In a world that often demands peak performance under high pressure, Believers need a source of strength that transcends human limitations. In tough and trying times, when human strength wanes, God is available as our Strength. This psalm provides a roadmap for accessing divine power, revealing that God is not merely a distant helper but is our active, present Source of fortitude. Performance that thrives in trials to achieve purpose and fulfil destiny is not based on self strength, but on Divine Connection!

God is our ever-present “Place of Safety to run” and “inward fortitude” (v.1). He is not far away. He is available in the middle of the struggle, and has proven to be reliable. When we are weak, He is strong, even in times of turmoil (vv.2-3). The phrase "mountains be carried into the midst of the sea" is a metaphor for massive, world-shaking difficulties. Because God is present, we can sustain "faith over fear". His Power enables us to keep moving forward when circumstances threaten us to stop. Unlike the chaotic sea, God’s "river" represents His calm, gladdening, constant provision (vv.4-5). With Him in us, rather than being moved, we are helped early for sustained performance.

He whose Voice exercises dominion over the nations, kingdoms, and the earth, is on our side, as “our refuge” (vv.6-7). Let’s learn to run to the Refuge first, making God our first resort in times of crises, not our last. His works are tangible and visible, either as “desolations” for the wicked or the reign of peace for the righteous (v.9). Therefore, we are called to be still and productive; cease all frantic struggling and trust His sovereign control (vv.10-11). This is not passive inactivity, but a quiet confidence that releases God to work, enabling us to act with precision rather than panic. Amidst the threats of overwhelming pressures, we can practice "being still" – meditating on God’s Word.

We shift from anxiety to stillness by recognizing God’s proximity; He is "very present”! He is not distant, but within us, supplying the stamina for daily tasks. Our best performance comes from abiding, not striving; resting in His Power, not running on empty human effort.

Therefore, in Jesus’ Name, I affirm by faith that:

God is my Refuge and Strength; therefore, I shall not be moved by the storms of life. I receive divine power to perform beyond human limits.

My very present help is from the Lord, not a distant helper. The river of His provision, flowing into my life, makes my path joyful and productive.

Because the Lord of Hosts is with me, I break free from fear. Every mountain of challenge before me is collapsing at the Voice of the Almighty.

I am equipped with divine stamina to overcome every obstacle to my promotion. I will make progress, and fulfil my destiny with precision.

The Lord burns the chariots of my enemies and makes wars to cease in my life. I am still, I know He is God, and will be exalted in my affairs.

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
