VICTOR

Yet in all these things we are more than conqueror through Him who loved us – Romans 8:37

Every true Believer in Christ is a VICTOR not a Victim. Through Christ, we are Overcomers and “more than conquerors” (Rom.8:37). To be an Overcomer means that no matter what you face, you’ll conquer, you’ll come out on top, you are never defeated. To be “more than a conqueror” goes a notch higher. It means that you’ve surpassed conquering – you’ve grown past the level of conquering, because you conquered “in Christ” a long time ago, through the Victory He obtained on Calvary and at the Resurrection: “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Rom.8:11).

As a child of God – a Victor in Christ – God has not called you to struggle or try to overcome in the power of the flesh. Potentially, you already overcame; you’ve won! Jesus said, “…be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (Jh.16:33b). When He overcame the world; in Him, you also overcame the world. In Christ, you have defeated the devil and all his demons. In Christ, you have spoiled Satan and the cohorts of hell: “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Col.2:15). It is unfortunate that many believers – potential Victors – are living in panic and fear, ascribing to already “disarmed principalities and powers” the authority that no longer belongs to them! May you not be like the children of Ephraim, who though armed, turned back in the day of battle (Psa.78:9). Decide to not follow such route. Rather, cultivate the mind-set of a Champion, a Winner, a Victor, and More-than-Conqueror in Christ.

If you have been truly born-again, you’re born into a life of Victory. You must never allow the circumstances and challenges of life to make you condescend to the valley levels of discouragement, despondency, dejection, depression, despair or defeat. You were designed to operate OVER, not “under the circumstances”: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and OVER all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Lk.10:19). You have been authorized and empowered to TRAMPLE OVER all demonic entities and their operations. You were never meant to be struggling to survive against demons, with your back literally pushed to the wall. Your victory is assured in any circumstance or situation you face: “in all these things we are more than conqueror” (Rom.8:37). You’ve overcome the world and its systems. You’ve overcome the devil, disease, and death.

Beloved, you must become conscious of who you are in Christ; what you have in Him; and where you’ve been positioned with Him. You are a VICTOR, not a victim. You won in Christ ever before there was any battle. You are called to a fight of faith, not of fear or of the flesh. The fight of faith is a good fight: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called…” (1Tim.6:12a). It is the good fight because you were declared Winner ever before the fight! The outcome of the fight had been pre-determined in your favour! It is not God’s perfect will for you to fail or be defeated in life. The Greater One lives in you: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1Jh.4:4). The Greater One has made you more than a Conqueror. Rise up as a Victor. Think Victory thoughts. Imbibe the Victor’s Mentality. Catch the Victor’s Vision. Pursue and fulfil the Victor’s Mission and Mandate.
