Proverbs 29: 11-18

“Where there is NO VISION the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” – Proverbs 29:18, KJV

Confusion and Disarray are the consequences of lacking Divine VISION for IMPACT: “Where there is NO VISION the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” (Pro.29:18, KJV). Without Vision, man would perish; not necessarily in the sense of dying or expiring, but in terms of being stripped of honour and dignity, losing worth or value. To live without Vision is to die in degrees – in confusion, defeat, and frustration. The New King James Version says, “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.” This scripture emphasizes the vital role of Divine revelation or Vision in shaping society’s moral and spiritual well-being, as well as defining the destinies of individuals and groups of people.

When people are devoid of divine guidance, they are prone to uncontrolled behaviour, casting off moral restraints. Conversely, those who diligently need the Law of Vision have their lives directed and ordered aright. No matter the physical endowment, looks, academic qualification, social background, or material possessions of a person, if he does not know his purpose for living or where he is headed, he has no place to occupy and no impact to make on this earth. A Life of Impact begins with a sense of mission – a discovery of one’s purpose or reason for being. And, Vision is the unveiling and revelation of Purpose!

Some qualities of the wise stated in Proverbs 29 are closely linked with the Virtue of Vision. For example, “a fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back” (v.11) because the latter sees the end from the beginning; he sees the Big Picture, and avoids the consequences of emotional imbalance. The same is true of a wise ruler who sees deeper than to pay attention to the façade of lies that tries to label all his servants as his wicked enemies (v.12). Regarding the Light of Vision, God is no respecter of persons: “The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The Lord gives light to the eyes of both” (v.13).

The king who judges the poor with truth and parents who value the rod, rebuke, and correction, see far ahead what others are blind to (vv.14-15,17). Vision is invaluable. People of Vision are those who have discovered and are charting the course of the lives, marching on their ways, and running on their lanes, as it is written of Joel’s Army – God’s End-Time Army: “Every one marches in formation, and do not ranks. They do not push one another; every one marches in his own column” (Joel 2:7-8a).

Every Visionary in God’s Army knows where he belongs and excels there. Every Believer is called for a purpose, the unveiling of which is termed Vision. It is the discovery and pursuit of Vision – keeping the Law of Vision – that guarantees Impact!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
