Bible Meditation:
Isaiah 30: 15-26

Your ears shall hear A WORD behind you, saying, “THIS IS THE WAY, WALK in it” Isaiah 30:21a

To Walk as God Walks is to WALK in GOD’S WAY: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “THIS IS THE WAY, WALK in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isa.30:21). There can be no better choice in life than to follow and walk in God’s Way. No pathway can compare with God’s Way, because our Lord Himself is THE WAY: “I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Jh.14:6). Jesus is THE WAY, not just A WAY. He is the Way to the Father (Jh.14:6). He is the Way of Salvation (Jh.3: 16-17; Acts 4:12). He is also the Door of Salvation (Jh.10: 9-10). Jesus is the WAY to all of God’s Ways – His Wisdom, Principles, Approaches, Direction, Methods, and Strategies.

God’s ways differ from ours (Isa.55:8-9). But they are always the best: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer.29:11). We often find it hard to trust that God has a perfect plan for our lives, so we try to do things our own way: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Pro.14:12). Rebellious Israel didn’t want to walk in God’s ways, being filled with their own ways, trusting in Egypt (vv.15-17). Despite their rebellion, God didn’t abandon them utterly (vv18-19). Our Great Teacher chastises us when we turn from Him, so that we might see our errors, quit our sinful ways and return to His Ways. Then He pours out His unlimited blessings (vv.20-26).

It takes knowing and cherishing God’s Word to Walk in His Ways: Your WORD is a LAMP to my feet and a LIGHT to my path” (Psa.119:105). This figurative expression emphasizes the direction that comes from following God’s instruction. Lamps create light for visibility, movement and activity. Walking in the Light prevents straying into the ways of the wicked. God’s Word is a lamp and light, helping us to navigate life’s pathway. Reliance on His Word is the only way to successfully walk in His Way. God’s Word reveals His Way. His Word guides our feet to not falter, fail, or fall. His Word enlighten and illuminate our Paths to not slip or slide.

Like Moses, Believers are meant to know God’s Ways, not just witness His Acts: “He made known His WAYS to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel” (Psa.103:7). To know His Ways is to know Who He is; to know God’s Acts is to see what He does. The Israelites had witnessed God’s mighty acts in Egypt – the ten plagues, parting of the Red Sea, the pillar of cloud by day and fire by night – and they were captivated with His miracle-working power; but they barely know Him. They were not walking in His Way!

Hebrews 3:10-11 says: Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have NOT KNOWN MY WAYS.’ So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest’Those who fail to know God’s Ways “always go astray in their heart.” Moreover, they forfeit God’s Rest! When we know God’s Ways however, we’ll partake of His Presence, rest, and stability, even in a troubled world: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” (Exo.33:14b).

We do well to pray like David often did: SHOW ME YOUR WAYS, O Lord; teach me Your paths” (Psa.25:4); “TEACH ME YOUR WAY, O Lord, and lead me in a smooth path…” (Psa.27:11a); “Teach me Your way, O Lord; I WILL WALK in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name” (Psa.85:11). Beloved, God has a plan for each of our lives and it’s up to us to follow His Ways so we can fulfil His Plans and Divine Destiny. Let’s commit to seeking, KNOWING, and WALKING in GOD’ WAYS!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
