“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall MOUNT UP with wings like eagles, they shall RUN and not be weary, they shall WALK and not faint”– Isaiah 40:31
Those who wait on the Lord are assured of renewed Strength for Divine Speed – to WALK, RUN, and SOAR: “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall MOUNT UP with wings like eagles, they shall RUN and not be weary, they shall WALK and not faint” (Isa.40:31). Yesterday, we meditated on Kneeling, Standing, and Sitting. Today, we examine what it means to Walk, Run, and Soar – three distinct levels of experiencing Increase and Progress in life. God’s Word promises: “When you WALK, your steps will not be hindered, and when you RUN, you will not stumble” (Pro.4:12). In His Presence, we never crawl, creep or stagnate. We are increasingly empowered to walk and not faint or be hindered, to run and not stumble or be weary, and to soar with wings like eagles!
Walking denotes fellowship, dynamism, and steady progress. God Himself is a “Walker”: “And they heard the sound of the Lord God WALKING in the garden in the cool of the day…” (Gen.3:8a). He walked in the midst of Israel’s camp (Dt.23:14) – “I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people” (Lev.26:12; 2Cor.6:16). He is ever-dynamic and on the move; nothing can stop Him! Moreover, God delights in those who walk with Him: “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him” (Gen.5:24). He instructed Abraham: “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless” (Gen.17:1b). God cares about the nature and direction of our steps and ways (Psa.37:23,31).
It takes being in agreement with God to walk with Him (Amos 3:3): agreement with His Will, His Ways, and His Word (Psa.81:13; Rom.12:2). David prayed: “Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (Psa.25:4-5). He affirmed: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psa.119:105). God’s Word teaches and leads us to walk: in love (Eph.5:2); in the light (Jh.8:12; Eph.5:8); by faith (2Cor.5:7); in the Spirit and newness of life (Rom.8:1; Gal.5:16,25); in holiness, righteousness, purity, and integrity (Psa.24:3-5, 84:11, Isa.35:8; 2Cor.6:14-18); and in obedience and the truth (Exo.18:20;1The.4:1; 3Jh.4); and in wisdom and power (Eph.5:15-17; Psa.84:7).
Running speaks of the Pursuit of Vision and Mission in Life’s Race: “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? RUN in such a way that you may obtain it…. Therefore I RUN thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air” (1 Cor.9:24, 26). Holding fast the Word of Life will ensure that we “have not run in vain or labored in vain” (Phl.2:16). Jesus is our Model in Running: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us RUN with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” (Heb.12:1-2a).
Soaring signifies Supernatural Strength for Dominion, Distinction, and Glory: “As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord alone led him, and there was no foreign god with him” (Dt.32:11-12). As we wait upon the Lord, He renews our strength. He stirs up our nest – our fears, disappointments and lack of confidence – spreading His strong wings for us to rest, and lifts us up to safety. He trains us to spread our wings and soar high. Circumstances shall not overwhelm or keep us down. Looking up to God, committing our ways to Him and giving over our cares, we rise up and soar above all challenges. We run and are not weary, walk and are not exhausted, and soar as the eagle!

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
