WALKING IN WISDOM

Bible Meditation:
Ephesians 5:1-16

Who is as the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face to shine, and the sternness of his face is changed – Ecclesiastes 8:1 (NKJV)

How can you know a wise person? How can you judge that you are walking in Wisdom? Here are four virtues of the wise:

  1. Seeing eyes:  the wise person knows the Value of Vision and the Power of Perception. The wise person is focused and never leaves his or her tomorrow blank: “Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you” (Pro.4:25). The wise man keeps covenant with his eyes: “I made a covenant with my eyes; why then should I look upon a young woman?” The wise person prioritizes and is selective to discern between the spiritual and the carnal, between a way and a snare, and between the doors of life and the gates of death. Wisdom leads in the pathway of Vision!
  2. A warm heart and attitude: “He who is quick-tempered acts foolishly…” (Pro.14:17a). “Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools (Eccl.7:9). Wisdom is not reactionary. The wise person doesn’t allow situations to drive his or her responses. The wise is cool, calm, and collected; and portrays positive attitudes to life.
  3. A wise tongue: The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom: but the perverse tongue will be cut out” (Pro.10:31). “The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly: but the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness” (Pro.15:2). If any man among you seems to be religious, and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain” (Jam.1:26). Your tongue testifies to your wisdom. Let the Lord touch your tongue with the fiery Torch of His Wisdom, so that whenever you open your mouth, wealth of wisdom will flow.
  4. Wise and faithful feet: feet walking in faithfulness. Faithfulness and wisdom are inseparable: “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? (Mt.24:45). Yet faithful people are rare to find: “Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?” (Pro.20:6). A faithful and wise man stands with, by, and in God. That’s why faithfulness is highly rewarding: “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished” (Pro.28:20). The wise put premium on faithfulness!

Christianity is a Walk of Wisdom – a relationship, communion, and fellowship with God, the Ultimate Source of Wisdom! Ephesians 5:15 admonishes, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise.” Wisdom is a function of the nature of your walk – your associations, choices, decisions, and actions. Let God’s Wisdom see through the storms, ooze from your heart, and flow from your tongue, lead your feet into fulfilment, and cause your face and destiny to shine!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
