WHAT THE LORD WILL DO (III)

FEAR NOT, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God: I WILL STRENGTHEN you; yes, I WILL HELP you; yes, I WILL UPHOLD you with the right hand of my righteousness – Isaiah 41:10

God says “I WILL…I WILL…I WILL”! God speaks FAITH to cast out FEAR. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom.10:17). That’s why He usually proclaims HIS WILL: to ignite our faith for a life of victory and triumph! Our meditation text in Isaiah 41:10 gives three clear assurances: (1) “I am with you” – Divine Presence; (2) “I am your God” – Divine Possession; and (3) “I WILL…” – Divine Performance! Our interest in this series of meditations has been on ‘What God WILL DO’ – the Lord as a Performer of His Will.

Again, it’s time to declare what we believe God WILL DO in our lives this New Year:

• The Lord, the Strength of my life WILL STRENGTHEN me with His Might (Psa.27:1; Ephe.3:16)
• The Lord WILL GIRD me with Strength for every battle of life, and make my way perfect (Psa.18:32, 39)
• The Lord who has ordained strength in my mouth WILL STILL the enemies and the avenger (Psa.8:2)
• The Rock of my Strength WILL GIVE STRENGTH to me; He will bless me with peace (Psa.29:11; 62:7)
• The Lord who is my Strength and Redeemer will make haste to HELP me in all situations (Psa.19:14; 22:19)
• The Lord my Strength WILL TEACH my hands to war, and my fingers to fight (Psa.144:1)
• The Lord – the Man-of War – WILL ARISE to FIGHT for me while I hold my peace (Exo.14:14; 15:3 )
• The Holy One of Israel WILL HELP me and uphold me with His right hand of righteousness (Isa.41:10, 13)
• The Lord WILL OPEN for me rivers in high places and fountains in the midst of the valleys (Isa.41:18a)
• The Lord WILL MAKE the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water for me (Isa.41:18b)

We need to be grounded in the truth that the Lord is a Performer of His Word and His Will! He told Jeremiah: “…I WILL hasten My Word to PERFORM it” (Jer.1:12). God is ever ready to perform His Word. He assured Israel: “…I WILL VISIT you, and PERFORM My good word toward you…” and “I WILL PERFORM that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah” (Jer.29:10; 33:14). His ZEAL is ever ready to perform His WILL (Isa.9:7). Amen.
