WISDOM IS DOING THE WORD

Therefore whoever HEARS these sayings of Mine, and DOES them, I will liken him to a WISE MAN, who built his house upon a rock – Matthew 7:24

A person’s wisdom is expressed in his or her words. God’s Word is equally an expression of His wisdom. God’s Word is His Wisdom Bank; the Source and Fountain of divine wisdom. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in His Word (Col.2:3). Wisdom for academic attainment, business breakthrough, career accomplishment, financial fulfilment, marital harmony, success in ministry, spiritual excellence, and every other desirable life-goal, are all packaged in the Word.

Wisdom is the correct application of the knowledge of God and His Son, Jesus as encoded in the instructions of scriptures. The Bible is God’s Wisdom Bank covering all areas of life. The Bible is God’s wisdom packaged in book form. It provides the keys to excellence, exploits, enlargement, and exaltation. Hearing and doing His Word makes you a wise person: “You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me” (Psa.119:98). It takes the Wisdom of the Word to be able to exercise dominion over worldly affairs, to handle the present, and monitor the future.

The Lord Jesus defined Wisdom and who a Wise person is in the Parable of the two builders: “Therefore whoever HEARS these sayings of Mine, and DOES them, I will liken him to a WISE MAN, who built his house upon a rock” (Mt.7:24). A Wise Person sets out to build, hears instructions from the Master Builder, and does as instructed – builds on solid foundation. Therefore, wisdom goes beyond hearing, teaching or preaching the Word, Wisdom is in doing the Word of God.

Those who would be blessed are those who will do what is commanded in the scriptures: “his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law does he meditate day and night” (Psa.1:2). Are you that Blessed Person? Your attitude to Wisdom will answer that!
