Genesis 13: 8-18

“Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are – northward, southward, eastward, and westward– Genesis 13:14b

GOD’S WORD provides ample Insight into the WONDERS of DIVINE VISION: “And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are – northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever (Gen.13:14-15). Vision is the seeing of a sight. Divine Vision is a divine Picture with a divine Purpose. Everyone is created to fulfil a Purpose here on earth. Purpose is our Reason for Being. Vision is the unfolding or unveiling of Purpose; the God-given revelation of His Purpose to be caried by a person or group of people. Vision is the discovery of Life’s Purpose. It is the unfolding of God’s plan as it relates to a nation, group of people or individual. God has put within us the Power of Vision (Eph.3:20).

There are material realities and spiritual or eternal realities. Divine Vision deals with spiritual realities, not fantasies, mere imagination, or wishful thinking. Visions involve seeing beyond the natural into the spiritual, with the spiritual eyes (Eph.1:18). Lot “lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere” (v.10a). Unfortunately, he chose a land that was destined for destruction. Abram on the other hand, lifted up his spiritual eyes in respond to God’s Instruction, and accessed the Wonders of Divine Vision (vv.14-16).

In 2Kings 6:15-18, Elisha operated in the reality of Divine Vision. His camp was surrounded by enemy forces, making his servant to be afraid and insecure, until Elisha prayed: “Lord, I pray, open his eyes, that he may see” (2Kgs.6:17). In that instance, a veil removed from his spiritual eyes, and the hitherto visionless servant saw with vibrant vividness, the vast visitation of heavenly hosts. Fear took flight and Faith came to the fore. Vision is Light. The power of vision is the power of light! God wants us to walk in the Light and run with our vision.

Here are few of the Wonders of Divine Vision:

Discovery of vision and its pursuit is the gateway to the actualization of our glorious destiny in Christ. Divine Vision makes the journey of life exciting and fulfilling. We must be divinely guided in life, because one wrong step can wreck a destiny! Misdirection can lead to many years of setback, and can even wipe out a promising destiny. However, when we operate in the Ways of God, we shall make waves on the earth.

Vision is the foundation of true Leadership. Our Lord Jesus revealed the likely tragedy of following the visionless.: Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch” (Mt.15:14). Proverbs 29:18a also says: Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint...” The absence of vision spells confusion, disorder, anarchy, frustration and destruction.

Vision inspires Exploits. Knowing where one is going and what to do to get there generates confidence and makes one a person of unusual, extraordinary strength, a person of exploits. Knowing the end from the beginning, causes us to run like horsemen and leap like chariots, like the end-time army in Joel 2:1-8.

Leadership is ignited and sustained on vision. Isaiah caught the greatest Vision – the Vision of His Majesty the King of kings – high and lifted up, with His train filling His Temple – and his life was radically and permanently transformed. Though already a prophet, this Vision elevated Isaiah through phases of Conviction, Cleansing, Calling and Commission (Isa.6:1-13).

Vision is the Pathway to Honour, Dignity, Distinction, and Impact. Vision renews strength and adds value to life. Caleb kept his Vision of Conquest alive and lived to see its fulfilment (Num.14:7-15).

Life's achievement begins with Vision. God always has an end in view, and is willing to share His thoughts with us: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jer.29:11). My Vision is my Future!

Our Vision

The vision of KCOM is that:
"the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas" (Habakkuk 2:14).
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
